Fugazi1, you are comparing an industry giant with a startup. BA operate exclusively with Iberia out of the biggest airport terminal in the UK . They literally funded its construction... a mere 80 million passenger capacity. Speak out about yourself and not about others when your talk about your business knowledge because you dont seem very clever at all. Bistolover, thanks for the questions! IAG were one of the most profitable airline companies in the world pre pandemic. If aviation recovers they will recover. If it fails they will be the last to fail as their liquidity position is robust compared to others. Worst case scenario and aviation collapses as an industry due to another deadly variant for example, we are all in trouble.... back to investing in netflix and deliveroo.....

FTSE12, IAG was operating around a fifth of capacity in the first half of the year. They expect to increase operating capacity to around 45% between July and September. This could increase to 75% by the end of the year. I would be interested in understanding how the share price might be lower than it is today and why they would need additional liquidity if revenue increases in sync? Liquidity stands at 10.2 billion as of Q2 report.....

Mararab it will be a smaller IAG for sure, even when the US opens back up. However the group will have also consolidated its routes to the most profitable, significantly reduced operating costs as well as developing cargo as an ancillary form of revenue. Debt of course will be an issue, but will hinge on what they do with the liquidity they currently have.

Summer is over in my books, any positive change in sp will be driven by better financial results. Good to see the UAE, Qatar and India open back up. The US however is the most important piece of this jigsaw puzzle and will drive sales. Looking at the peaks and troughs of the delta variant and vaccination, I can only see the US opening in late September/October potentially even November. All variant dependent.

Majority of people have booked their trips and made their plans. Tests costs and travel restrictions lists are keeping people at home, they dont want to take the risk year. I am in the stock for next year not the next 2 months .

Summer is over, people have booked their trips, I would not expect to see any major jumps in travel until the US lifts its restrictions or on good earnings reports. US lifting penciled in for late September in my books. DYOR.

BB there is no certainty in investing and theres always risk. Not sure I understand your point? Travel is restarting and the vaccination roll out is gathering pace, two facts that might be of more use to you.

The risk that IAG are referring to in their H1 report applies to all airlines; new variants, availability of vaccines, travel restrictions by governments etc. If the situation worsens obviously actions will need to be taken and share price will drop, however if these risks subside and the industry opens back up with pent up demand, the opposite is true. To be honest it seems to be a very transparent half year report. After the past 18 months, we are all very unsure about the future and can only hope for the best.

Seems to be a shift from bad news to good news, weekly increases from here on in hopefully!

Vaccinated have started traveling, nice rebound running into the 30th of July results.
