This share has been super frustrating for all in it.
AMC chief AA mentioned this as a catalyst for more big production value movies to be created. He said this was the motivation for late her volume of movies in 2023-2024.
Good news!
Still to be seen if it’s a dilution
I think the appeal will be quick actually, 2- 3 months max... I dont know if we can appeal again.
AMC will be interesting to watch today ! seems like the APES are piling in!
At least it will all be finally over . Im actually sick of waiting around. Either we fly or we burn.
I wonder how long this appeal trial will take? Does anyone have an idea?
I wonder if we have no evidence to submit, or are CINE simply asking for a review?
If we win the appeal, and have a small pofit (or even just break even) I am sure the SP will fly.
Time will tell !
DYOR
If Q 2 breaks even then that would be the best news ever. That would mean we can service debt at even sub normal operating levels. I cant imgaine our SP stagnating any longer afterwards.
I cant see Q2 being a profit. There were not enough movies.
Although I was disappointed in the AMC results, did anybody else listen to the talk AA gave after? He seemed convinced that 2023 would be beating 2019.
Also, his tweets this weekend sure have rallied the “apes”.
Anyway, 7 weeks to go until our Q2 .I wish I could be excited but I think all it will show is a smaller loss than Q1.
Not much news i guess.
AMC got (almost) what was estimated .
silence from CINE as usual.
Just another day.
Hex - I guess we will have a better picture with results in september... no point trying to guess. Im gonna stay in this.
On the plus side- the SP hasnt actually done too badly today , or at least not as bad I I expected.
Hexam what you say is true, but I think we can confidently say people are spending more at cinema AND that if we had the volume of films (150+) we would be in a very good position. IMO I think that we will see this play out in 2023
Yup AMC was a sad story. It looks like we will have to wait until 2023 to see profit. I just hoping we can waiver/ negotiate debt payments until then.
lejjb, if you want to spread FUD here you have to try harder. or maybe you are that stupid. I dont know and dont care.
AMC sp was about 7 dollars pre pandemic/meme status. Their SP will eventually fall to reflect its fundamentals.
CINE is the opposite. We never became a meme stock.
But it seems cinema as an industry has a long way to go to get back to profit. Apparently 2023 will be a bumper year, exceeding even 2019. We just need to survive until then I guess. No biscuits for a while I think
Focusing on the good - we are up 2 % today
Bonks I get what you say, but I just cant fathom / imagine anyone bored enough to come here, make up a trade, post a BS story and then leave.
Unless they think they can affect the SP in which case they are total idiots.
at least someone is making money here. Id never short mostly because I dont know enough, but I know its risky.
