Where Q2 Earnings Could Get Interesting
The not-very-subliminal message in CEO Adam Aron's tweet was that some news unveiled during AMC's Q2 earnings will create a catalyst that will allow retail holders to “pounce” on short-sellers.
The company has been reporting a prompt recovery of its business fundamentals since being hard hit by the pandemic. In several consecutive quarters, the company has shown gradual improvement.

Classic example is Timeshifted, who keeps replying.
The CEO's message that a short squeeze may occur after his company’s earnings announcement on August 4 has caused euphoria among AMC shareholders (a.k.a “Apes”). Retail enthusiasm has sent the theater chain's shares nearly 20% higher over the past two trading days.
Currently, AMC’s short interest comprises almost 22% of its float, with 113.01 million out of a total of 513.33 million shares being held short.
Even better yet, stop replying. They enjoy the responses. They want you to reply so their "0p next week " message is the first thing you see.

Just remember no matter what the SP is, CINE is still selling tickets, making money and hopefully paying down debt. Its business model is proven, and has been shown to be recession proof. Im holding on.
rs - i think H1 will surprise everyone!
im with shaz on this one
Blackridge we know debt is high. What I'm hoping to see in H1 results is that there is a plan and ability to pay it off... And no you don't KNOW the answer.
Yeah sadly the prediction is 72% of 2019.
https://www.fool.com/investing/2022/07/11/amc-entertainment-has-another-record-weekend/
This was AMC’s most attended/highest grossing weekend in 2022 so far. More than 5.9 million guests joined us globally. Admissions revenue about DOUBLE the same weekend of 2021, and 12% above 2019 pre-pandemic. To industry doubters who predict extinction of theatres:
"That’s 33% ahead of the same post-Independence Day weekend in 2019, when Sony and the Marvel Cinematic Universe had Spider-Man: Far From Home leading all movies to a $183.8M take"
Open in time for Expendables 4!

AMC beats estimates even with a really poor Q1. Looking forward to H1 given the success of some notable big films. Given that CINE has about 20% more screens than AMC, the result should be even bigger!
