Picked up some RR @ 925 p early on and sold just @ 944 p --only 2500 but banks me a quick £475 .---going to look for a few bargains on anything deeply oversold now before the bounce kicks in ----as common concensus is for a bounce followed by further falls unless significant support levels can be retaken --got in on Aviva ( 2500 @ 488 p ) looking for 18 or 20 p perhaps as it's well below all moving averages at the mo. -- 2000 AHT @ 895 p sold @ 920 p again just for a quick profit -------GLA.

Post on 3rd October suggested that Dow 16400 was the 2009 lower uptrend line ---that was incorrect-- -i was using IG Index's graph which calculates on a different timeframe ---correct level is as posted below ( as near as i can see) -----GLA.

Tomc ---well, 16600 didn't hold but if it can be re-taken early next week then the game is still on , perhaps ? ----Correction sets in at about 10% so that means around 15650 --this level coincides very nicely with the 2009 uptrend bottom channel line at this moment in time --significant, therefore , for both reasons ------needless to say Ftse and Dax have well and truly broken trend channels and major support levels already ----hence why i post that the US holds all the answers , esp. with earnings season approaching once again --------right now being in cash ( or much more in cash than previously ) seems a prudent move !! -----GLA and good trading ----

that was feb 2014 support once 6520 had gone --next level is 6350 ish which it has tested and held so far today --next one down is last years 6250 ish level --below that is sub 6000 ( heaven forbid ) --all these levels will have to overcome to the upside as they are now Res. not Supp. --it's testing 6350 as i write ---days low was 6327 --not looking good but any Dow gains will temper Ftse and Dax falls now --need 16600 to hold into the close today ---GL.

I would like to retract the last few words of my last post --they may be seen as slightly condescending and that was never my intention --my apologies all -------markets settling a bit just off lows with Dow struggling at that 16740/50 level i spoke about -----GLA.

Welcome back Optimus and well done on your trading ---you're sounding like a pro. trader now !! ---well done tomc also on your trading --some interesting days ahead for the markets , i suspect !! ------Dax first support now is down near 8530 ish but my guess would be the second support around 8430/8450 ish level , it is now ,however, on RSI 29 ( oversold ) so a bounce to 9000 may occur --i would'nt be going long until 9000 is retaken -- Ftse100 is in a similar position on RSI 30.6 having just come out of oversold so a bounce to 6415 ish may occur --again i would not be going long until that level is at least taken back but would be happier to see second res. at around 6520 ish re-taken !!-------------Dow has the answers to everything --it is holding on RSI 37 ish at the moment , this area has been significant over the last 5 years in starting the rise back up to RSI 70--i would like to see first supp. at 16600 hold now but second supp. at 16350/16400 is more likely --a bounce back above 16700 may occur but above 16740 before even considering going long -----------all JMVHO --and of course purely hypothetical -----but i can wish can't i ? (lol) -----stay short or stay out !!!! ---GLA.

I felt my ears burning (lol) ----GS doesn't appear to be posting to me by name at the moment -must be something i said or am i just being parranoid ? ---Yes , interesting article but i would suggest we all keep one eye on the Dow and the other on the news channel --Ftse100 and Dax are below key levels as i post and Dow is the only thing keeping " key" from becoming "critical " right now . Something like Iraq or Ebola perhaps could well tip the Dow below key levels and the snowball gathers momentum ----JMVHO --- but as i said before i'm split trading or short a lot more now than i ever have at this time of year --still got my ENQ --i did post that lower may be seen so holding for now and AHT down a little but that's one that will come back as will all the good uns eventually ---caught the bounce on the Indicies yesterday but have been short them all today ----we are seing a significant dis-connect now between Europe (Dax) and the Dow --time for real care and due diligence --GL.

Get a lift up a bit tomorrow if Dow holds its gains into the close tonight ? -----might have to look at my stops early in the morning (lol) --------------GLA.

Well i see Motley Fool is into ARM more than anything looking at the no. of ARM related links --to say this one may outdo the FTSE100 isn't saying much really at the moment !!---looking at the 3 year price graph doesn;t exactly fall into line with Motley Fools suggestion that this one has done well over the medium term ?? ---i think the best that i could say at the moment is that in all probability we have a bottom @ 160 p ish --at some point it will try and regain its 50 DMA presently up at around 197 p ish --but unless i see a few higher highs etc above 180 p then i'm still short of this one ------sorry to be so downbeat , let's hope for those higher highs ---GL.

Yes, saw the profits warning a few days ago but since then several brokers have come in with positive notes --missed to go short on the warning for some reason ? ---extremely oversold now , but as you say , may go a bit lower ----worth a small punt tho' at these levels looking for a bounce perhaps --see what tomorrow brings ,as it closed today near its lows. ---GL.

Yes , ENQ , as you say down in oversold waters now --why ? ----last set of results were not bad enough to warrant such a severe drop , JMHO -----have traded this one in the past and if i had noticed it i would have gone short at the break down from 120 p --i have the 5.5% Enquest Corporate Bond in my Halifax PF and it is the only Bond i own that is showing a loss !! ------ may see lower yet tho' down to that 83 p ish level . ---have just taken a small posn. long on it , so i'm in with you --GL. and thanks for the heads up ( hopefully ) (lol)-----
