For the update ---- thought i might be a bit higher up the ladder but ETO has come down off its weeks high around 194p ---- Was daily rsi overbought at that high level so 50% of my actual long posn. has been closed out already . Just keeping a few in case of a bid coming in again !!. Optimus :---- got back in a few mins. ago to find my Dax short hit my 10350 limit again for another +70points --have another 10420 short order in again ( fingers crossed) . Just gone Long Gold at 1228.5 ( 1200 stop loss ) ---has dropped back from yesterday's 1270 high to today's 1227 low . Roller coaster or what with Gold atm , not really sure about my long posn but giving it the benefit of the doubt for a while ---- GLA _----

The pain goes on and on ------to be fair i have read and re-read the trading statement and really cannot see any reason for such a continued weakness this time !!! Makes you think if the skeletons in the cupboard are still hiding something back ???? From purely a technical point of view it's very oversold on the daily rsi BUT has in the past been further oversold than it currently is , so has the potential for further declines yet , i'm afraid !!--- Back to levels last seen in late 2011 atm ----- It will reverse at some point but how high that reversal will be is rather clouded atm !!-- I'm obviously in the red with this one along with everybody else and my hope is for a small reversal to get out at somewhere near break even for now ---- But that may be some way off ---who knows ?? Afternoon All :--- off out soon so just a quick update !!-- A lot colder out today --- time to put a jacket on again (lol) !!-- Optimus:-- well done on your trades !!-- The Dax definitely coming up trumps for me atm ---- Yesterdays shorts hit my 10350 target for +100points --- Another 10420 order was triggered and closed again at 10350 for +70points --- Currently got one short order running triggered again at 10420 --- Those guys at IG got it pretty much spot again again which has helped my decision making a lot easier . My Aviva still around b/e and Mothercare still wants to keep dropping ?? Still more than covered by Dax gains so hanging in there atm. ITV a bit of a mystery at the moment ---but i want to stay in there just in case of a possible surprise bid . Looking to get back into IMG if it hits that 160p historic supp. level ---- not far off now !! May call time on Tesco --- up a few quid atm , but hard going !!-- GLA -----

Optimus :--- I'm having a roller coaster of a night & morning on the Dax !! Short order filled at 10420 on the gap up late yesterday afternoon and then another short order filled at 10520 in the wee small hours this morning !!---- Went from down £310-00 to currently £220-00 up !! (lol) --- This volatility means that i'm only going in with £2-50p / point. ----( average level now 10470) Dax well overbought so hanging on in there for a bigger drop atm. ---- Hanging on to Mothercare for the moment ---- GLA ----

As with most things in life --- a premium is over the odds , a discount is a bargain !! I knew i should have gone long Gold and gone short the Dow (lol) ---- too late now !! Bad luck with Mothercare --- i'm down as well but not out just yet !! GL -----

Yes, by any technical indicator it's well oversold now !!--- You're 135p level looks as good as any for some sort of bounce/ short term reversal !!-- Around that level was the low back in 2014 ( but went lower in late 2011 ) . So who knows for sure !!--- GLA ----- gonna need it !!.

Well , markets are in a Powerful move higher ( even the good old Ftse100 has overcome resistance ) . Optimus :----- Dow, and Dax are now overbought technically on the 1hourly but these moves are so powerful that i'm not attempting to short atm. ( tried one on the Dow just above 18020 earlier on and got stopped out for a 12 point loss !!. Waiting on the sidelines for a while ---- Missed to get back into Gold around the 1228 level ( damn ) ---- GLA ----

You're a late poster as well , i see !!!!--- As posted below not really that much difference between a Fund and a Trust --- primary difference being the way they can be bought and sold --- GL -----

No point in asking GS that question ---you know he doesn't believe in Technicals !!!! But it's fair to say that even if you look at a graph for a Fund or Trust ( both contain multiple stocks and are basically similar ) they do in the main follow some of the technical indicators that we use ( overbought, oversold , res. & supp. etc ) ----- GL ----

Closed the Dow short at 17970 again for another +33pts . ---- Was going to add to the short posn . just after the close at 18019 but thought better of it ( damn) . Still looking to go short again below 17960 or above 18020 --- As far as i'm aware the Force Open facility is to let you open a short position if you're already long a stock or to open a long if you're already short a stock --- Finspreads don't have a Force Open facility ----- it would automatically close a long posn. if you tried to go short and vice versa !!-- IG are far more flexible in that respect !!---- GL -----

May regret this now but just gone Dow short @ 18003 -- It's looking EXTREMELY Bullish atm.---- GLA -----

Out @ 17970 for + 31pts. --- short order in for break of 17964 !!. GLA ----

Optimus :-- Dow Jones only about 340 pts,. off its all time high atm. !! Has been looking extremely Bullish since the lows around mid feb. or so !! Maybe due another wave lower now ---what ya reckon ?? Anyways gone short again a few mins. ago at 18001 --- looking good atm !! My Gold long got closed at 1240 ---- Gold looking a bit tired now , we'll see ( orders are in ready tho' for any renewed strength ) . A Dow drop will hopefully offset any running loss on MTC and AV. --- GL -----

Don't understand why you had to " force open " on Aviva if you are already long ?? ---

Disappointing now to see the 3 month uptrend well and truly broken --- made a bit on 50% of my long, more or less b/e on the remaining 50% so not all bad !!! --- May well see that 160p ish level tested again now !!--- I'm back in on orders around that level or any break above the recent closing highs around 195p or so ---- GLA -----

Optimus :-- Yep, Aviva still falling but got in this morning with a small Long on the drop at 436.12p , so happy wityh that as a starting point !!--- Haven't bothered with CPR yet as the spread is too wide for me atm --- not bothered about their carpets just their share price (lol) ---- Mothercare still dropping as well on the back of last weeks trading statement etc. but was patient this morning and managed to get in with a small long at 147.58p --- Down a tad on both atm but we'll see ---- My Gold long still doing well , so swings and roundabouts again --- GLA ----
