Markets are all very quiet ahead of Janet's " delivery" later today and tomorrow ---- scope for potentially explosive moves one way or 'tother depending on what she says !!!!-- Gone in with a small Gold long again today ----- stupid or clever ?? time will very soon tell (lol) --- Good Luck everyone with AV. and AHT and ITV ------ i'm holding long posns. in all three atm , so fingers firmly crossed !!-- My Just Eat long is trailing down in the red zone atm., not a clever move that one --- got the timing wrong i think there !!!--- Not much else going on ----- my grass got mowed and my garden got the manure treatment . My heating system is next on the list , for a " drain down & flush out " ---- Spring is in the air , pity we saw no snow here yet again this year !!----- GLA -----

Thanks for your concern everyone but only been missing from the boards since saturday -- last posted on the General / Stock market direction board on saturday . Don't forget to check the "General Chat " as well as the "Share Chat " if it' seems a long time !!----(busy in the garden for a couple of days last week ) Only got back a couple of hours ago --- today and yesterday haven't given me the time to check in till now so apols. for giving you all a " fright " --- My brother , who lives alone and suffers from emphysema hadn't been answering his phone or door so there were concerns for his well being !!-- No cause for any real alarm , as it turns out, but a long journey and back for all concerned !!--- Catch up more tomorrow but not much trading to speak of atm. --- GLA ----

Optimus :--- playing the Dow 1 minute rsi overbought/oversold is giving me good gains today --- Short off 17050 and long off 16965 has given me another + 100pts. -- Good trading channels today right from the NFP statement !!--- GS :--- Admiral SP is out of my normal price range for Spread Betting ---too much margin requirement for a share that high in value !!---- GLA ---- out in the wet and wind now , --- wish we had a bit of snow like up north instead of this relentless wind and rain !!!!!!

GOLD now at new recent uptrend high of 1279 after briefly dropping to 1253 !!!!--- extremely BULLish -- Dow has dropped back over 100 points since the release of the US NFP data which will probably mean another interest rate rise in on the cards sooner than later now !!!!---- Caught some of the Dow drop and the Gold rise but sadly closed out too early yet again --- the "fear factor" is still evident in my trading (lol) but i am more than happy with the profits in the bank today !!-- GLA ---- GS , Admiral have done extremely well in the last 12 months !!

Short closed out for +8.6 pts . ----not much but that's the weekly saturday shopping and pub dinner after paid for upfront !!----- GLA ----

I went short Gold earlier on at 1273.6 ----- in the money atm but Gold has most definitely broken out to the upside now and so care is needed on any short term short posns . --- Also gone short Rolls Royce ---- again, like Gold, looks to be slightly overdone on current rapid rise --so looking for a few pence drop !!!-- Increased my long posn. in ITV and ETO. -----trying to keep the faith with both atm !!!.(lol) ----- All eyes on US NFP later on !!!!--- GL ----

Tullow Oil broke out from the 12 month downtrend back in late january around the 148p level ---- It then tested that level twice and held that level both times in march --- It is , however , slightly overbought on the top Bollinger but not on the daily RSI -- All other indicators are technically positive atm ---- Slight consolidation very soon but hold above that 180p historic supp/res. level and all looks good -- Not worth chasing up right now ----wait for the pull-back is my HO --- GLA ----

Is everything ---- isn't that what they say ??---- Well, my timing seems to be a bit wonky atm. that's for sure !!(lol) --- Sold Barclays way too early , and closed Ftse100 long way too early !!!--- Failed to believe that Gold would continue to rise at the same time as the markets continuing to rise !!-- Oh vey --- GLA ---- did have some VM as well and sold those far too early , just look at the sp now !!!---

Markets have a nervous disposition atm. ---up, down, up , down ---- Out of Ftse100 long with just +11points ---- Trying my second Dow short of the day now from 16908 ( +30pts. off the first short from 16901 ) --- Will be very jittery i expect until the US data tomorrow is out of the way ???--- GLA ----

If you look at Robbie Burns buying history on ETO you'll see that he bought " the falling knife " several times and lost out heavily !!--- By his own admission he doesn't usually fall into that sort of "trap" --- the fact that he's bought 4 lots more since his last posted loss speaks volumes to me !!-- GLA ------

I suspect he's in ETO for the longer haul & possible bids down the road a little !!-- If he did sell some this morning then he's banked a nice 20%+ profit on his february buy tranches !!-- From the Technical point of view it was'nt rocket science that it was in for a possible pull-back today regardless of the results !!-- It had gone from daily RSI oversold right up to daily RSI overbought in the last 3 weeks in the run up to results today . That's why old Robbie Burns got in when he did !!! ---- Brokers are positive still today, i see , and i bet in the next Naked Trader update we'll find that he's probably topped up at these lower levels !!--- GLA ------ keep the faith and ignore "smart talking idiots " like Jab1tt !!!!!-----

Barc for + £81.00 ----not moving fast enough at all and broke down below the intraday support at 159 so triggered my s/l just below that ----- About the same amount Down on the Ftse100 long , so swings and roundabouts atm ----- GLA ----

Optimus :--- Closed remaining 50% Dow short at 16820 ( + 80pts.) -- Just gone Long Ftse100 at 6147 --- don't usually trade the Ftse100 but if i've got it wrong then the smaller movements on the Ftse100 will be less of a loss !!-- 50point stop loss is my usual on the ftse100 ---- GL ---

I've just done a " GS " and reversed my decision !! -- Closed out the Dax short just for + 70pts. and 50% of the Dow short for + 53pts.--- I'll hang onto the other Dow 50% for now --- GL ----

I'm not really qualified to give you that " hope " you're looking for (lol) ----- I'm hanging on to my shorts far too long atm. today ---- Dax and Dow have come back very well --- could have banked a bucket full about 30 minutes ago !!-- Still, i'll hang on for now ------ consolidation will come soon ( gulp ) --- GL sir ----

Now £120-00 up (lol) ---- I really thought it would climb back a bit faster than it has done ---- more pain to come perhaps for Barc investors . GLA ---

Well it has turned back down off that very strong resistance level around 174/176p --- If it can somehow get over that and hold on, then £2.00 is a real possibility ----- GLA ----
