RE: JD Sports Badly Executed Strategic Plan17 Dec 2024 15:57
JohnJo1,
it seems you are trying your best to drive sentiment down on here!!
Brands like HoodRich are essential to the product mix at JD, street/fashion brands are always 'finished off' with the lastes pair of nikes/adi/similar. Running with specific streetwear brands is all part of the game that is JD, they arent called JD sports FASHION for no reason.
More new sports/outdoor brands are now taking more market share (in UK) Montirex, Technicals (JD Own Brand) etc....mixed in with the usual, Nike, Under Armour, Asics etc......
You're way way off with your brand assumptions, this market moves faster that you think, and each territory does things differently. Hoodrich is just getting a proper hold in the US after being aquired by Iconix.
JD are very much of the opinion of selling a whole outfit to a consumer with high AOV, hence the mix of sports and fashion brands, I know, I had a brand in there in UK and across Europe for 5+ Years, they do it better than everyone and their buyers are top of their game. MASSIVE opportunity at this SP, I'm £200k in with another £100k to throw in a little lower than todays price. itll double within 2-3 yrs.
