Just received some adidas footwear from JD online. They are now live with Adidas with a drop shipping model. I was informed of this at purchase. Allowing JD to range a much bigger adidas range, without the stock commitment. What this means for margins I don’t know, but certainly allows JD to convert more customers who visit the site, increasing sales conversion %

I imagine they are now already doing this with other brands, they first spoke of it when PCowgill was up top.

Footlocker up 26.15% in the last month. Crazy to think where JD could end up in the next 12-18 months once the SP gets some stability.

Ive noticed they seem to leave things later in the month to be as far into the FY as possible in order to gain confidence in rest of year guidance. I read somewhere (I think on this thread) that there is likely already a delay to this, possibly due to crunching hibberts numbers for future guidance purposes? At least thats how I read it.

As I said last week, when Nike wobbles, adidas surges.

JD/FL/Dicks just have more support/protection this time around with UA ON NB etc all in a very good place.

Yes their main distro is in Belgium, we used to deliver our brands into there. I'd like to think the Majority of spaniish shirts are already in the territory in stores (except web), given there is quite a small selling window between now and Sunday.

Thing is though....they will still be limited by how many shirts they originally bought from Adidas/Nike many months ago....lets hope merch got their numbers right :)

you're right they wont, but for every fake in circulation its a sale JD won't capture and does in fact pick JD's pocket.

Yes you're right, JD does sell all the brands that the sector is blaming for Nikes wobble. JD has all the on trend brands, same customer just buys something else within JD if they are having a break from Nike. I feel JD is incredibly well protected here, as they pick up the sales from the customer who has switched from Nike any way. ON Running is a particular one to watch. HOKA is a bit more of a specialist trainer rather than a sports fashion item, so I think will always bee in the shadows of the others. When Nike drops, Adidas usually surges so more for JD here too.

The blanket sportswear news affecting singular brands SP's plays into the hands of those who can trade in and out of JD with patience.

I lived in Newcastle for 7 years, their fan base is ever so concentrated in the North East, I imagine this is a long term deal though in the hope they grow globally. New deal with adidas just gone live 1st June, & without Sports Direct selling anything NUFC (even though a self respecting Geordie would never buy there) there should be a strong summer of Newcastle adidas merch sales, however only really focused around the NE for now.
