FALCON,
War is only a small part isn’t it, we can’t close our eyes to everything. Lets not forget US politics, & the route JD’s European stock has to take for Q1
I sold out fully last December, sheer luck once the Early Jan update hit…. I then jumped back in after the first two days drop, & it kept going. 🤦🏻♂️ someone on here said, “never catch a falling knife” & it’s stuck with me ever since 😂
I’ve got £300k waiting on the sidelines, going to slowly feed it back in around the 125’s. Then absolutely leave it alone until this hits the inevitable 200’s and live rest of my days mortgage free 🤞🏽
Keeping my powder dry on this one atm, don’t think we’ve even seen the biggest drop off yet, zero good news on the horizon & what will Q3 update in Jan bring? Last year was a disaster….and the world is in a worse place IMO
As always good luck everyone.
Surprised we didnt see a bigger hit today given the unresolved US Port strike situation. No agreement by midnight tonight (US) then Tuesday sees mass eastern walkouts, from the majorty of Ports from Maine to Texas!
Unsure if any on this board are following but an account on Instagram (I know I know, Instagram 🙄) that goes by the handle of @lifegoalinvestments is a very good watch. Ex-wall street trader who really knows his sh*t & offered some very good viewpoints. Quite often calls stuff well too
Does anyone know the story/reasoning behind JD closing its distribution centre in Derby, 3years into a 20year lease?
Likely instigated by P.Cowgill yet reversed by current management? What could the strategy change be here?!

lets also not forget it was the autumn/winter where JD came unstuck citing a warmer than expected period. Have they changed tactics this time around expecting the same weather? Although there are many more store openings & Hibberts to consider this time round. I’m fully out again as of 2 weeks ago but keeping power dry as you say…. Buffet knows something more in general too! 🧐

Just received some adidas footwear from JD online. They are now live with Adidas with a drop shipping model. I was informed of this at purchase. Allowing JD to range a much bigger adidas range, without the stock commitment. What this means for margins I don’t know, but certainly allows JD to convert more customers who visit the site, increasing sales conversion %
I imagine they are now already doing this with other brands, they first spoke of it when PCowgill was up top.
Tav,
Ive noticed they seem to leave things later in the month to be as far into the FY as possible in order to gain confidence in rest of year guidance. I read somewhere (I think on this thread) that there is likely already a delay to this, possibly due to crunching hibberts numbers for future guidance purposes? At least thats how I read it.
