yeah that's the Psychology of it

comes to a resistance point, they expect it to bounce of a resistance point so they sell up - thus because of the selling it does bounce, self fulfilling prophecy

another one is Fibonacci retracement levels. Can see it most noticeably after spikes - people expect it to fall back to a fibonacci level - so they buy or sell based on that, so then it does exactly that. The recent VAST spike is a good example of it - the price has fallen back to the 61.8% fibonacchi as its new base and seems to have a new ceiling of the 50% fibonacci level

not part of charting but part of the traders Psychology is buy on rumour sell on news - you see that time and again, especially on AIM.

loads and loads of tools, that basically just tell you the same things in slightly different ways
I must admit I do not really use them

candlesticks, trend lines and resistance lines are mostly it for me
tick volume too is very handy to know, price movement on high volume means much more than on low volume
plus can help in determining start and end points of a trend

that's all the charting is doing looking at the old prices. putting a few lines on the chart can just help you visualize it better

kod as an example - the price was drifting but has hit an old resistance point around 0.345 and started rising again
rising nicely for 4 days
anticipated resistance points at 0.42 and 0.46
of course the SP can carry on rising but these resistance points are in peoples minds so because they expect to get stuck here, it does become stuck here
any unexpected news / RNS etc blows the charting out of the water though

there are a loads of ****ty vids on youtube - however I found some nice tutorial video's on trading 212 website with guides on charting, candlesticks and charting tools. They even go into the mathematics behind the tools like bollinger bands, though a lot of the maths was over my head lol - and not needed in just knowing how to use them.

charting seems contentious in places, seems it's like marmite either love it or hate it

same as everything else - it's just helping with your educated guesswork. Some people seem to claim it predicts the future but all it does is help show you the past. Though with people's Psychology, the past can repeat, come in cycles and self fulfilling prophecies.

I consider it a useful tool to help make decisions - when combined with everything else. Plus once you have decided that yes you are going to buy into a share, charting can help with your buy in point.

my understanding is that rig is not needed once flow testing starts - so the flow test can take as long as it likes and will not affect the rig mobilisation. The RNS indicates to me that all should be good by end of the week for release.

there have been some delays here - but that does not automatically mean there will be delays at 88e - the ice-pad construction is not completed yet so it's not as though 88e are crying out in desperation for the rig - as far as I can tell it all looks on track and no delays at all for 88e
as friendly neighbours I'm sure panr and 88e are in regular contact and know what is going on, from both sides

I think there has been some exaggeration and scaremongering on the 88e BB

at the moment it seems 4/5 people instantly get salty and over react with their responses, causing these flare ups which go round in circles for weeks

simply just do not respond and I guarantee that these individuals will post far less

it feels like the prem board has learnt this better than the kod board as these 'arguments' have reduced greatly over the last couple of month

we all hope it will be good anyway
