What's the hurry? Maybe there is only one test crew/set of equipment available. Probably better to have the news released at 2 separate times anyway.

Yes they found 68ft of pay in the subthrust sheet and ran out of drill rig before reaching the bottom so there may be more.

Smasher the reason for not testing Chinook was mentioned in the proactive video interview today. They won't be able to get a test rig down the road to Chinook while they have the drill rig at Cascadura so that can only happen once Cascadura deep has finished drilling.

Smasher I think the original Cascadura well was due to go down to approx 8150ft (as will Casc deep) so a fair bit less than Chinook.

Corpse, where did you hear about gas only coming through after perforation at Carapal ridge?

Having had another look at the last presentation I think this is wrong and the well is further west than this, closer to and north of Catshill somewhere

It's worth bearing in mind that Xavier has been a member of the Touchstone Facebook group for a while now (before Chinook) and also that he regularly posts info about Cascadura and geoscience etc on Linkedin which he then links to from twitter.
So (and Xavier may correct me) I think he's just keen to share his knowledge and passion for the subject which also ties in with him being a Lecturer in addition to his job at TXP.

Worraps, Xavier did previously comment on some of the discussion here via facebook a few weeks ago so I done't think anything to worry about as such: eg '“i saw on the chat that folks wanted to know why i said the Cascadura discovery is a pile of sand at least 4km by 1.5km when the tests show its unbounded. Seismically these are the possible extent of the Cascadura structural feature. They are not the extent of the sands. Sands occur south of Cascadura into Chinook area as well but
Chinook is a different structure from Cascadura. A 4km by 1.5km feature with 957ft of hydrocarbon is sizeable by itself but what is really amazing about Cascadura is that though the areal extent may appear small, the sands are stacked tremendously and we haven't drilled all the sheets as yet..hence CAS Deep...'

How often are the satellite pictures updated there though? I remember looking at satellite pictures for SPL to try and establish how much the company were lying (a lot) about progress on their port construction in India but the satellite imagery wasn't updated frequently there on Google earth.

Corpse, I think there might be some details of a rig contract somewhere with a road/address, can't remember but also Danawinner might be able to help you out as he has a contact with a nearby farm.
Are you going to send a drone up for us to take a look?
