From the UP tender result listed there yesterday, it looks like partners of Cyan are listed as L1 status for 16 tenders in UP.

Maybe start drilling Royston end of January and get to the bottom about 3 weeks later. Then some testing but hopefully an initial indication of flow rates shortly after total depth is reached and a first test done.

Maybe, they did just have 500,000 extra. They have generally managed to get placings away at good prices and I would have thought more likely they would wait until a large order comes through in the new year before any possible raise but who knows?

I think it's a Canadian statutory requirement that they have to release the report in mid March like every other year so it's pretty unlikely to be delayed.

IMV they want/need to drill the wells at Royston soon so they can create a proper field development plan. With oil found in the intermediate with non optimal equipment and a non optimal location but lower water cut than the overthrust it makes to drill there next especially in this oil price environment so they can work out if it's best to develop the intermediate/subthrust ahead of the overthrust and start generating cashflow quickly. Likewise why not also drill the Cretaceous/Krakken which might trump everything found at Royston to date.
IIRC Cascadura is due to come on at 60-70mmcf/d and then maybe up to 90mmcfd later in the year.
IMV there is no point drilling any more wells at Cascadura until the pipeline is definitely hooked up as they cannot monetise until then compared to Royston.

Personally I have no interest in a further Coho development well at this stage. Would make much better economic sense to spend that money on a Cascadura development well or even maybe a Royston intermediate well

Agreed, except that the price is now lower than it was then (140p) so we may have actually benefitted from not knowing at the time!

Assuming the test has been successful so far any flare probably came and went pretty quickly as they don't flow test for long and they are now running the 2 week pressure build test.
