RE: Could Synairgen Manufacture SNG001..??12 Sep 2020 16:06
Agree with monticello, we don't have to. It's a very small company that has always done a lot of outsourcing and collaboration with trusted partners. To do anything in-house we'd have to scale up massively - even with all the money in the world that would take a lot of time and there would be a lot of obstacles to overcome. It makes more sense to go with partners who already have the infrastructure, distribution networks, sales team, support capacity etc. RM has always said the company is about finding, creating and testing the product, derisking it and then selling it to big pharma. Once we have approval (barring unforeseen disaster) I'm sure we will have a lot of options on the table.
Agree with FMG that the potential of the drug could be enormous for many existing conditions, COVID and COPD are just the beginning.
I was originally expecting a full takeover. Now I'm hoping for joint ventures / licencing deals around the world. The politicians will probably insist on securing it for their own states first, but big pharma should at least be pragmatic about affordable pricing in the developing world and hopefully generous - as Dudio said, offering people a life-saving drug means huge returns beyond just the money.
I would like very large payments upfront and then ongoing royalties for a few decades please :)
