Interesting question, just done a bit of googling, I don't think they're growing them in the hamster. They extract cells from the hamster to create a primary culture and then use the cell line in a bioreactor. I think basically they make batches in vats.
I read something ages back about using fungal yeast instead but apparently that gives a slightly different product.

It's interesting, like you say they are quite a way behind SNG. I'll try to do some more looking into alpha vs beta.

I think it's quite unlikely. SNG did the work on finding an appropriate formulation for inhalation. For example, it's pH neutral to avoid irritating the airways. I really doubt they can just take a drug intended for injection and stick it up people's noses.
'Device' could easily be an autoinjector or something similar.

There was a Chinese paper fairly early on using a nasal spray in front line health staff.
