If someone could explain more about DPS uplift ? Looks like we get mid single digit cash cost increase to div pot and also mid digit dps increase as well applied to next interim and final . Does this improve the next years div to nearer (35.7*1.05*1.05) 39.4p ? if so , then no need to worry about sp falling as this bonus would support a share price nearer 562p (7%) , perhaps even slightly higher when interest rates drop a bit

Aviva dividend next year confirmed with mid single digit growth in dividend..( say 5%) : so as expected.

But 2025 buyback cancelled to part fund DLG purchase; as per Reuters.. maybe SP now climbs back to 475p etc, because I was a little bit concerned over the weekend they would reduce next years dividends.. All is well , but still need UK interest rates in 2025 to taper down to 4% by end of 2025.

With the US declining after the Fed announcement, perhaps there’s a chance of say 236p in the morning and a recovery on Friday if the RNS gets released .

Yep we need to know how much extra we are getting via extra incremental buybacks next year .. So if the number is small , then the SP will fall again.. LGen need to learn from Aviva.. 5% growth per annum, not 2% . At least today is a step forward.

Thought I read yesterday that the 2 Chairpersons had spoken to each other and agreed no more discussions .. hence the RNS was worded as such.. I'm not expecting another bid.. think it's a mistake anyway.. Once the 25th passes, this should be above £5 by year end. It's dividends and extra capital returned to shareholders.

On 26 November 2024, the Board of Direct Line rejected the Proposal as substantially undervaluing Direct Line, and has declined to engage further with Aviva.

Guess we should buy some Direct Line in the morning.. but seems like 250p is too generous.

Checked Barclays this morning , and the dividends were credited last night..

Not sure why they take 2 days more than H/L

Just looked in Barclays.. not sure why I thought it might be in on the weekend.. but hopeful of something on Monday.. In the past they have been slower than H/L.

Haven't got anything from Barclays yet. (but the H/L have arrived)
