That's fine as an argument Enki, but the Semnet 'IPO' valuation is the biggest single reason that people will have been saying it's massively undervalued here (ignoring slightly the fact that they only paid 1.8m for it, not that long ago) If it turns out that the Semnet share is only worth 1m them it's a different story.

Also, it doesn't help the IPO argument, surely. We value Semnet for IPO at 54m but recently downvalued it internally to a fraction of that. Would you want to buy Semnet via IPO for 54m on that basis?

It just needs explaining I guess, but they perhaps can't due to the arbitration. Tricky.

In fairness Enki, they only paid 1.8m for it, and are impairing nearly half of that cost already (so suggesting that they overpaid and it has dropped in value since purchase)

That doesn't stack with it now being worth 50m+ on an IPO...

Some big ones there, including a monster sale at 29.1p. I can't see how many of them were buys as it was NT to buy in any volume at various times.

They've done fantastically well to get that NAV to those figures, as it would have started at less than 5p a share. They just needed another month or so of nonsense and people paying crazy multiples via raises at high levels and they would have got away with it, like Old Man Swithers from Scooby Doo.

Billy, so are saying that they want to pay tax on the difference between the 1.8m that they paid and this new assumed value? The purchase price is set and so the difference would be a gain. That's the total opposite of what you have previously suggested they are doing, contriving to make losses to keep the tax bill down.

They paid 1.8m dollars for two thirds of Semnet about 18 months ago. 8 months later, the value had supposedly increased 20 fold? With the lack of transparency and non compete action pending etc, it seems a stretch to value it alone at 50 million plus now.

Let's be honest though. It isn't one of the first couple of dozen names that many people were hoping for. Actually looks a decent fit, but most people will not have heard of them.

Unlikely, yes. Impossible - no. Wood Group has seen loads of TR1's during its period of suspension, so shares can change hands whilst suspended.

Shares on options (as opposed to performance related shares) aren't sold to settle the tax liability so much as to cover the purchase price itself, so a cashless process. That wouldn't be that much here on these ones, particular the 2.5p ones.

You don't exercise options unless you're going to sell them, or unless they are about to expire. No point exercising options (taking a unnecessary risk however small) otherwise.

Who is selling, I wonder. Perhaps it is the guy who left the business, as they wouldn't be at a loss as such if they received the shares at the IPO rather than paying more than twice the current price for them like an unconnected investor. News soon, I would think. I'm happy enough.

Where is the Senmet asset shown? As 66.6% of Senmet is owned by the Group, where is this on the balance sheet / list of assets please? Is it part of the net assets mentioned, and if so why so low a figure?

The LSE RNS saying that the suspension is lifted this morning should come out at around 7:30am
