The longer term problem here will be the loss of faith and goodwill to ordinary coppers who are only following the orders of the politicians at the top.

Going back to Manchester Airport it's the CPS/Rodney who have blocked the prosecution as the papers were sent to them months ago.

The Govt may think they've solved the problem by putting protesters in prison but the root causes still exist and appear to be growing at an alarming rate. It would help them enormously if X was closed and I'd suggest this may well be behind the Guardian's decision.

Always amazes me that schools allow them in. Should be surrendered when they call the register and returned at the end of the school day.

Nearly had an accident recently in the wife's VW when at 50mph it decided to do an emergency stop for me. Thankfully no other vehicles were near but I have to say it shock me up a bit.

I've heard Farage rightly condemn the riots multiple times but sadly have seen many people claim the total opposite.

That's a good example of the danger of the internet whereby people often take everything they read as being gospel without checking.

An even better example was the widespread reaction, including riotous behaviour in Rochdale, to the first Manchester Airport video. To me it was obvious there was more to it and also very disturbing that the authorities deliberately only released part of the narrative to cause the reaction that it did.

Governments & the like should take some responsibility for their part in where we are now.

The problem is that as a world we've failed to fully harness the many good aspects and have allowed the negatives to dictate and quite frankly become uncontrollable.

I read recently that cat rescue charities can't re-home black cats as easily as others because they aren't deemed to be as photogenic on social media. Let that sink in for a second, people choose a pet on the basis of how it looks on social media.

The point being we are told the tax increases are to avoid services being cut yet that appears to be happening too.

Budget

What I'm struggling with is the expected big tax hike to avoid a return to austerity measures and yet cabinet ministers are quoted as falling out over the size of their budget cuts.

Seems like once again we will be paying out more to receive less.

And so we should as they've earnt their passage by serving the country, same as the Gurkhas.

Perhaps all the MPs who got freebies should be repaying the 'huge cost' of the blue light escort to the taxpayer?

Labour & Conservatives are both fairly inept but I'd say over the last ten/twenty years they've really plummeted, and now we've seemingly gone over a cliff edge.

Hard to define the exact reason but it's possibly due to the large numbers of career politicians who are clueless to the workings of the real world and the problems WE encounter.

In my book there has to be a requirement of having some experience of real life before standing for Parliament.

At least Truss had the decency to resign when it was clear she wasn't up to the job.
