IMO a good move (but a bit late in the day) by BBB. In Europe, satellite delivered broadband has over the last 5+ years become ever more marginalised by much better performance and much better value 4G delivered broadband. If you look at the total number of European customers acquired by EutelSat, it's only 50,000. That tells a clear tale if you look at historic reported geographic splits of BBB's customers. Churn levels on satellite broadband in Europe have very clearly been terrifyingly high over the last few years... (which really should not have come as any surprise to anyone).

So IMO a sensible thing - late, but better late than never. Flog off the remaining customer base and most of the operational costs/staff/premises involved in servicing that. You can bet your bottom dollar that there'd have been significantly less customers to sell next year.

As to what remains? Quickline is almost certainly the remaining jewel in the crown, but as far as satellite is concerned, the Nordics and Australia are far more sensible and appropriate geographies for satellite, when compared to the rest of mainland Europe.

The question now is... what will BBB do with that £38 million? It's going to need to do something (acquisition probably... but what?), because the remaining revenues and GM almost certainly do not justify the costs of remaining listed... even with the substantially reduced OPEX base.

The only thing of any significance that has happened to Weald oiler stocks over the last few months seems to be a growing realisation that the Weald story cannot be flogged any more ("flogged" in the sense of both to mug PIs and of a dead horse).

Hence ANGS's incumbent board of toffs making a rapid foray into buying a Poundland gas field and UKOG's comedy gold Mr. Red Trousers hastily deciding that Turkey is the new Gatwick.

Bless 'em both. They both desperately needed a new tub to thump, because their old ones had very obviously disintegrated.

...frantic bleating of the ramptastic crew (newsflash, boys... there really aren't any mug punters left on ANGS for you to pick the pockets of) and for all their efforts to drown out any more realistic and fact-based opinions, all one really needs to do is look at the SP and how it's performed, both under old and new management (but of course with the common factor of that utterly spotless individual JTP throughout).

But of course when you're one of the the usual yawn-inspiring short-term traders that infest AIM, desperately assuring everyone you're a committed LTH (with - amusingly - an average of either 6p or 0.7p, depending on which day of the week it is... gents, at least note down your previous fibs, because otherwise you'll look even sillier when carelessly contradicting them), then you'll of course do all that you can to distract attention away from hard, brutal and auditable facts.

Keep trying though. It makes for a mildly amusing read now and then.

Heh. From what I know of him, Will seems generally to make smart trades - with "trades" being the operative word there. His preferred modus operandi seems to be to get in and out quicker than an amphetamine-crazed fiddler's elbow, hopefully making himself a quick 5 to 15%.

And nothing wrong with that. And Will tends to be more up-front regarding his preferred trading strategy than most. He's not always right though - I've seen him having to cut his losses and exit swiftly if a stock's gone the wrong way on him after two or so weeks (which again seems to be his patience period). But then again, there's nothing wrong with being decisive about taking one's losses either.

Sadly, most of the pickkpocketing traders on here (and God aren't they all so obvious?) spend yards and yards of BB posts assuring whatever passing mugs they can find that they're of course LTHers of their latest target stock and oh no no not frantically doing their best to ramp the living bejaysus out of the SP at all. Of course not.

As can be seen from the wording of the Vox markets' "opinion", it's lifted straight from a piece of ANGS PR puff. "we are a...", "our firm provides a..." etc etc.

As I'm sure everyone already knows, don't go looking to these paid "we'll say anything you want for a quid or two" allegedly independent outlets for any sort of rigorous analysis. They're all the same... compare Share Talk and Zak Mir's "how much lube shall I use, please sir?" hardball(not) interviewing style. It's exactly the same thing.

Those in the know - who popped up like a sudden crop of vociferous mushrooms over the last week - will be long gone by now. Just those who got in late, because they were hanging onto the others' coat-tails are left...

If that is how you define fulfilling the burden of proof, then God help anyone facing a jury of which you're a member. If that's your thinking, you'd have gone down well in Stalin's Russia.

I'll agree that the sooner any management realises that there's no point continuing to flog a dead horse, the better. Such realisation, although no doubt welcome, can hardly be justifiably called "a master stroke". It unfortunately raises several questions, such as "Why has it taken so long to realise this?" or more concerningly "How long have you actually realised this and how about all the investors to whom you've been so fervently selling the Weald story?"

However, returning to a brutally pragmatic "we are where we are" point of view, if HH et al are the busted flush they now more clearly seem to be, then such divergent diversification can hardly make matters any worse. It may prove hard for existing PIs to stomach the upcoming dilutative fundraising that's no doubt going to be required to finance UKOG's commitments under this new venture... but at least this new horse isn't also looking destined for the glue factory. Yet.

What's jaw-droppingly terrifying is that someone who's allegedly been prepared to invest their hard-earned in UKOG has literally no clue as to what the authority granted to the BoD to issue new shares if it chooses actually means in terms of the total amount of newly issuable shares...

As Andy states, the authority to issue a further 3 billion new shares if it chooses is now in place with the UKOG BoD. There is of course no stipulation or definition as to what price those shares will be issued out at (if they ever are). That will be decided at time of issue.

Agreed that anything said on any share bulletin board should be viewed with extreme scepticism.

Not at all agreed that one can take anything said by any listed company's directors as gospel truth, if said in some interview (which by nature is unregulated and thus mere "opinion").

Leaving ANGS to one side entirely, let's face it, it is a truism that it's invariably in directors' interests to spin the outfits they run in the most glossily positive light and to talk up the SP.

Which is why I'd rather base opinion on audited sets of accounts and maybe, just maybe info released via RNS.

(My doubt re the latter is well-founded. How do you get an AIM Nomad to sign off on literally anything said in an RNS? Buy him a long liquid lunch at The Ivy and send him a crate of vintage claret...)

2. What is "deferral of dissolution"?

A company should not be dissolved if there are certain matters still to be dealt with e.g. if there were to be legal proceedings against the company these would be seriously hindered if the company no longer existed. In the following situations the dissolution of the company would have to be deferred (postponed):

a. there is an administrative or Law of Property Act (LPA) receiver in office

b. there is a pension scheme which has not been finalised

c. the company is or will be the subject of prosecution or disqualification proceedings.

There's a simply massive clue in the article's headline - as slavishly copied on the CTAG website. That's precisely what made me raise an eyebrow and inspired me to bother checking out the original linked article in full. Here's a snippet from later in that same article:-

"Interestingly enough, there's a chance being higher-weight may protect against serious COVID-19 complications."

I mean, what the living f***? Why is Amit pasting articles on the Cloudtag website that suggest that obesity may help against coronavirus?

Simple answer - he's not reading any of them and is just copy pasting any third party created medical story in some sort of pathetic kneejerk effort to gain credibility by reflection and to make it look like something's actually going on within CTAG... including articles that actually go against his much-vaunted weight loss objectives.

It is truly as laughably ridiculous as it is tragic to those many LTHers who entrusted this farce of a company and its CEO with their capital.

Dougal's taken the decision to delete his LSE account, despite his numerous and constant assurances to the contrary.

Ocelot, your posts have to date largely been both calm and measured - whether I've agreed with your sentiment or not.

But starting a thread with this particular title? Not doing wonders for your credibility, I'd say... this sort of thing would be much more expected from the recent outbreak of vociferously squeaking short-term traders.

Different basis? Well yes of course if they're more recent entrants. Different management? I'm not so sure at all - the current figurehead hasn't covered himself in glory as of yet by any means and as I recently stated his credibility suffers from continuing association with at least a couple of longer term and still in place ANGS directors.

I strongly suspect that many of the more vociferously positive new posters who've popped up over the last few weeks like fungi are merely in it for the short-term trade and the quick percentage points gain, no matter how much they vigorously protest to the contrary. Nothing wrong with that of course - except for the rampity ramp BS they spew out in the hope of influencing others to get the SP to their preferred exit point.

It's not new news really.

We already knew about Paddy's chronic oversight failure while heading up the Audit Committee as a non-exec at NMC - and entirely failing to spot the missing billions - specifically he wasn't aware of an extra $2.7 billion of debt the company was carrying... Oops one.

We also already knew about the slightly odd happenings when he was an NED at Eurasia Drilling, which got sold at a knockdown price to the Russians as recommended by the Eurasia BoD. Apparently Paddy forgot to let anyone know that he was also on the board of a bidding company. Oops two...

What I didn't know though was that Paddy was apparently again an NED at Soma Oil & Gas. During his time there, this outfit was investigated by the SFO on money-laundering and corruption charges. To be fair, the investigation did not result in a prosecution, with the SFO stating that although there were "reasonable grounds" to suspect that multiple wrongdoing had taken place, it wouldn't reach evidentiary standards.... Oops three.

Paddy must be seriously unlucky, eh?

ANGS has certainly had its share of dubious characters in high profile positions in the past and its continuing association with Paddy C is doing worse than nothing for the credibility of either the company as a whole or GL as an individual. I strongly doubt that Paddy C is in any way necessary to the company - so if he's not replaced pretty quickly, the logical conclusion would be that it's all and only about the Eton Old Boys' Club.
