And the first utterly unsubstantiated claim of the morning from the uber-positive. To which I'd reply:-

1. As we all know, ANGS desperately needs funding - to a far FAR greater extent than the pitiful £250k raised yesterday (I wonder what the nett value of that is? Anyhow...)

2. Highlighting this dire need, ANGS's "chosen" route to "secure" said funding has been to lock themselves in exclusively for a period of 90 days (already busily ticking down) with an outfit nobody's ever heard of, who they're contractually obliged to pay for their time, regardless of whether any funding results or not. That is so clearly "last chance saloon".

3. As has been commented on already, the terms of the Knowe CLN prevents ANGS from raising more than £250k from any "public" placing (without prior approval having been gained from Knowe) anyway, unless they want that note to become instantly convertible (which of course they really really don't).

It therefore seems blatantly clear that on a number of fronts that £250k was all that ANGS was capable of raising - and it's equally clear that this is another "keeping the lights on" fundraise for just a little bit longer.

When any company gets itself in a position where it is utterly ruled by desperate and panicky short-termism, the red flags are obviously waving ever increasingly strongly.

I wonder how much of that is going to get used to pay Aleph Commodities Ltd's "reasonable due diligence fees", which are going to get paid out, regardless of whether any funding magically appears or not.

With this shower, you couldn't make it up. How many weeks of non-SFB related costs does £250k cover?

It was both and neither. It was a rapid realisation from both UKOG and ANGS that every last drop of PI-duping mileage had been squeezed out of the Weald oil story - hence new can-kickable fairy tales were very speedily needed by both, in order to continue to have stories to peddle.

As any wannabe propagandist knows, when trying to control the dialogue and fool the naive, it's important to come up with a mythical bogeyman to blame for all ills and for any comment that doesn't fit the approved ramptastic hymn sheet.

In this case, the invariably uber-positive and agenda-led are keen to trot out the entirely irrelevant "AAAG", a claimed teeny group from many months back that was always a complete non-event from the get-go. But hey, propaganda always has to pretend there are malign forces from which its issuers are trying to protect...

I've got a far better idea on who's really trying (or at least, claiming to try) to achieve something that ultimately is never going to happen...

Mirasol, your point is well-made and taken. But it's not quite what I was referring to with ANGS.

The issue with ANGS is that it sets PI expectation of updates, because throughout its history it has continually pushed out RNSes which basically say "Coming soon!" - whether those bits of information concern a flow test or a planning application in the Weald, the connection schedule and estimated on-stream date of Poundland Gas or the confirmed securing of desperately needed funding.

All of those (and many others) have effectively been "Coming soon!" announcements - but the problem seems to continually be that immediately afterwards, the company falls into prolonged radio silence, leaving those it has potentially piqued the interest of groping around in the darkness of an information vacuum.

That in a nutshell is ANGS's "no news" problem - and it's entirely self-caused.

I don't disagree. The news is there's no news - so nothing specifically ANGS-related to cause the current drop.

However, unfortunately this "no news" situation seems to be the ongoing norm with ANGS - and that is less palatable.

I think titling any prospective anthology as "The Angus Book of Spin" would run straight into major copyright issues with the boys sitting pretty in Chiswick. They seem to have an entire and very long-standing monopoly on spin and substance-free puff when it comes to anything they say about ANGS...

Gallifreyan, much as I am sure you'd like to see me banned for posting inconvenient truths, I'd love to see your justification for the claims that I am "disrupting the board". I rather think what you actually mean is that for reasons I am more than happy to lay out, I don't sing off the same hymnsheet as the endlessly positive cheerleaders.

To correct your misconception, people can post whatever they like (subject to whatever rules LSE applies). And others can comment on the relevance, accuracy and veracity of whatever has been posted (again, subject to whatever rules LSE applies).

That way one avoids one-sided propaganda - and of course propagandists do love censorship.

and

2. that is from an article that your post itself stated relates to budget info from back in March this year. Try re-reading the last line of your latest copy n paste fest.

So I'm unsure why you're more confused than usual?.

Ocelot, which exactly backs up the point of independent research, rather than just blindly accepting whatever puff and spin is being spoonfed to you.

I do note the date included by you within your copy n pasted article was 11th March 2020, so hardly up to date info.

No.

If you'd bothered to look at much more recent information about Government spending plans (e.g. Rishi's financial statement to the House of a week or so back), you'd note that, courtesy of COVID and the economic shrinkage that this has caused, the Government has (unsurprisingly) rowed massively back on both budgets and timescales to do with infrastructure projexts.

However, copy n pasting outdated information - let alone stuff that only has the faintest potential connection to ANGS - obviously serves your purposes better.

And if you're driving down a road that to date has consistently been littered with suspension-shattering and expensive damage-causing potholes, it'd be more than a tad foolish not to keep a very close eye out for more of the same.

It's a smart idea to ignore form, eh? Interesting philosophy, Ocelot...

On that basis, presumably you'd happily let a habitual burglar you barely knew house sit for you while you were on vacation, provided he'd said "Honest, guv. Forget my previous offences. Forget the fact that the most recent of these were only a few months ago. I promise I'll be going straight from now on."

I think the rational among us would agree that a) words are cheap and b) actions speak a whole lot louder than words.

So, when assessing the worth and credibility within any statement issued by any company, one is obliged to look at track record and audited achievement against previous words uttered or issued. Therein lies ANGS problem.

Crocqman, I'm more than sure that you understand the concept of independent research. I'm equally sure that you know that any information released by many company via RNS is going to be focussed as much as is possible regulatorily speaking on nothing but the positive.

As such, availing oneself of a large pinch of salt is mere common sense, rather than the naivity of just swallowing every single word as absolute gospel truth.

Ocelot, by "current", you presumably mean "most recently hastily pushed out".

Moreover and is obvious to anyone with either a double digit IQ or no agenda, without funding being secured, there's literally no hope for ANGS with Poundland Gas, let alone any other desperately spun fairytale about geothermal, cold fusion or pixie dust reactors.

Speaking of securing desperately needed funding, have you bothered researching the two Alephs yet? Or would doing so put serious obstacles in the way of the endlessly positive narrative you're so keen on promoting?

Given that you do love your copy n pastes Ocelot, here's one from the 30th Nov RNS:

It's heartwarming to hear that ANGS has appointed Aleph Energy Ltd due to its clearly stated long experience in arenas that would seem to be exactly on point.

I'm sure it's entirely irrelevant that Aleph Energy Ltd is in fact an outfit with one single director that was only formed three weeks ago.

You don't have a monopoly on research, Ocelot.

I also focussed on researching Aleph (in fact, NB both Alephs - "Commodities" and "Energy") as soon as they were first mentioned.

This also led me to research Ishtar Ventures Ltd and Kemet Resources Ltd. Further to the above, I was also inspired to take a brief look at Maplewood Trading Ltd as part of this research.

Suffice it to say that the jury is VERY much (I do know how you love your capitalisation) still out for me.
