Not sure my statement suggested bonds trading in 40s but I said that bonds are being traded at 60p + or -. This giving a discount of 40p + or - on the value of the bond with a benchmark price of 100 pence. As you say TCG debt rating 'junk' status for a long time so this is why I'm concerned at further bad news. There is value in TCG and bondholders and lenders know this and really they will care nothing for shareholders if it serves their interests.
As always just theory but we've been here before with Carrillion, Interserve, Debenhams, to name a few.

Sadly I think TCG debt rating is now classed as 'junk'. Hence bonds were quoted at 40p on the pound. My guess is this value will worsen subject to Mondays statements.
All theory but I continue to be corcerned. Hopefully TCG will surprise us all??

Followed the posts here for some time. Interesting to say the least and certainly those holding shares since they were 200++. Can't see anything really bad in the latest update but its certainly helped to retrace the SP after recent gains. Held Barc for some time and averaged down on the dips and don't see any reason to change that pattern on what is a good solid Divi stock with good upside. Like Lloyds and other UK banks the PPI payouts will stop in coming months that will dramatically improve the 'bottom line' on profit. The drag at present is the Investment Bank side but really Barc have performed better than most in this sector. Once PPI and Brexit is gone I see good upside to the SP.
The issue of Bramson?? getting on the Board is unlikely and really he just represents a 'vulture fund' out to make a few ?'
'bucks'.
All theory of course but good buy on any dip. Had an old 'stop' on Barc at 147p but difficult to see that being tested again.

Checked back on my comment of UBS downgrade to 15p. In fact it was Berenberg downgrade to 12p so need change my 'stop' level. Obviously they think little value in TCG

In answer to a question I bought into TCG at 24.75p some time ago. The following day a analyst downgraded guidance to 15p. Think was UBS?? and hence my 'stop' at 15p.
As suggested I re-read the last trading statement. Unlike TUI, TCG does not have any Boeing 737max planes in its small fleet so will not be impacted by Boeings problems. That said TCG plane division has value but Lenders and Bondholders will have the upper hand on any possible breach on lending covenants. This is really my biggest worry and any negative news on Monday on this would 'tank' the SP. If no bad news then great we may see an uptick and if they confirm takeover talks are in play then great.
All theory of course so lets see what Monday brings and looks like no support today on the SP.

Interesting if there is a General Meeting on Monday the 28th. All of the 'headline grabbing news' could suggest they were trying to deflect attention away from the issues that are sure to surface at this meeting. My guess is were not going to get any good news but possible warning on earnings and lending covenant problems that may be a real problem.
All theory but not getting good vibes from the this weeks uptick on possible 'fake news'. Reduced my 'stop' to 15p if things do go bad but if Lenders and Bondholders suggest anything negative I'm off and will take the loss before it 'tanks' to 1p

Not sure there will be any rebound without firm news on interested buyers of the business. Only see downside from here with the debt issue a real concern now.

You answered the question. No statement by TCG on yesterdays rise in the SP or rumours on possible. Then today UBS reduces guidance. Question is. Is this to much of a coincidence. TCG likely had the 'heads up' on the downgrade so to avoid 'spooking' the markets on the debt issue fed some story to Sky etc on possible 'buyers'.
All theory of course but could have some truth. This issue with lending covenants is not going away and could end badly.

Never thought my 'stop' of 30p would be tested after recent rally but looks like its possible in the coming days. Hope not but not much support at 32p so more downside risk than upside.

UBS downgrade on TCG to 27p is taking the gloss of yesterdays uptick. Obviously their also concerned on the huge debt and possible risk attached to any default with Lenders and Bondholders

Nice to see JPM giving Saga upgrade to 80p. Obviously they don't think the 'ship' is going to sink. Not sure I agree but not complaining at the uptick

Still hard to see reasoning for todays SP rise other than Sky news statement etc. Hope the uptick continues but without 'real' info impossible to stay positive.

Don't get to excited on TCG as the news that Lenders have called in specialists to review TCG debt could be interpreted as them taking a view that if TCG broke lending covenants they have the right to takeover the company. With TCG debt rated as 'junk' at 60p on the pound for bondholders they will be looking to recoup their investment. In this scenerio shareholders would likely get nothing. The Sky news report on potential buyers may be correct but could be a 'smokescreen' to deflect attention from the debt issue.

Compare TCG to Saga. Similar mistakes.by management and overloaded with debt thats now being reviewed in respect of lending covenants. Only plus is the rumours suggesting a buy out of part or all of TCG. Have my doubts but could see short term bounce allowing shareholders to cut their losses. All theory but possible

No support on recent gains and fundamentals on Saga haven't changed, still a bad investment. Had hoped for continued uptick but given holiday weekend markets will be uninterested in holding over the period. Next week may bring something new but still retain low 'stop' of 40p for Saga SP. Hope I'm wrong but see no reason to change this limit at present.

Ex divi already today hence the drop which equates in the main to the divi value. SP could continue to drop in coming days given a lot of shareholders, big and small, dump the stock once ex-divi date is past.

Pleasantly surprised at the uptick and hope it continues. Not sure why but could be shorts now off the table. Time will tell and still see little to support the gains.

If you want a good reason not to invest in Kier just look that Woodford increased their holding on the 10th. Talk about the 'cross of death'.

Have to agree on the comment on 'token' buys from certain highly paid management at Saga. Hardly emptied their pockets and really just 'add ons' to their 'free shares' issued like confetti by Saga.

As for the Blackrock holding. Its been around for awhile and 4sure the SP tanking hurt them but these guys will have been well covered on the 'short' side. Their far cleverer than we here so dont read to much into their present holding they could 'dump' this and still come out in front Im sure.
