Yes I would imagine it's a ramping tactic - like with any myth there's always a grain of truth so yeah there will be funds that don't invest in <£50m market cap companies and I'm sure there will be institutions and hedge funds that have their own specific rules they follow like that but otherwise it's not accurate.

Not to say it doesn't make a difference, I'm sure to a degree it does and at that sort of level you start entering the orbit of many hedge funds. By there's no hard and fast rule.

No that’s not true, only in specific cases and specific funds.

If you’d like Stokey I’ll give you a list of companies I follow that have received significant institutional investment with profits not projected until 4-5 years time.

Profit is not actually that important in companies with big growth prospects, working capital is what matters most.

To me it’s very simple, shares on AIM move in bursts generally speaking, not gradual increments. The news in November and subsequent milestones (contract and sub contract signing) were big enough catalysts to send this to 35p+ and stay close to that but heavy selling stalled the rallies and then sent us to where we are.

From here I suspect we’ll bottom out and begin to tread higher in anticipation of more news landing, which if good enough, sans large seller, will get the share price to where we all expected it to be by now.

Stokie you appear to be totally mixing up the motives and strategies of PIs and IIs. PIs tend to be very short term focused whilst institutions take positions early and scale in when they get the opportunity. Waiting two to three years is nothing for an II.

…If your simplified view of investing was true us PIs would sure be getting rich quick.

As for profit needing to be generated, again that’s bollo*** , there are tons of companies out there with billion pound valuation that are pre revenue even! What we do need though is funding in place to ensure the medium term future is secure and a clear path to profitability (which the fss goes along way to doing but isn’t enough on its own).

Since the contract news landed the share price has gone from 14p all the way up to 29p, and back down to 14p again. I think this is the bottom and we'll see it start to creep up again soon as anticipation grows towards the next bit of news landing and with no seller to depress it now.

Interestingly this is one of the longest periods Harl have gone without an announced contract win, I'm sure we'll get some more news soon.

I'm highlighting it because the alternative thesis was that Kave was rapidly dumping all his holding and therefore the share price was falling for that very specific reason - yesterday the selling appeared to stop and since the share price has rebounded fairly instantly.

Agreed but in the meantime perhaps recognise that your 'this is likely to keep falling until news' thesis was always wrong. And 'what's happened before will happen again' thesis also wrong when whats happened this time is a £800m contract + £100m investment + MOD relationship.

I wouldn't say so. There was more reason to believe that Kave, an individual, was selling down to zero and that looks like what he's done. With Killick, a broker working on behalf of clients, it was rather unlikely that they would be selling down anywhere close to zero.

Seeing as there's been no TR1 from them for two weeks it's fair to assume all selling might be done.

More pertinently miners tend to move with the bitcoin trend rather than the actual nominal price i.e a move from $16k to $19k leaves the miners higher than say a move down from $25k to to $23k even though the BTC price is far higher in the case of the latter - this is especially true for Argo.

No they aren't, that's just normal day to day (buying and) selling as goes on with every share - price creeping up into close unlike the previous few trading days.
