Well, well, well you must really think highly of Mike and Nick if you consider it possible that they have such utter control of things like this, to be able to perfectly manage the narrative in such a way as to keep a lid on the share price before successfully executing on strategy at a time of their choosing and raking in their millions.

Machiavellian or not I want to be invested in a company led by such skillful operators.

It’s mad that Argo have just avoided sharing the bad Jan numbers so the share price remains relatively flat, ludicrous in fact.

The hedge is tiny now, there’s just 4000 ounces left if I remember correctly ie barely 1000 ounces per month this quarter. And it’s still at ~$2350/oz so printing money even if a tad less on those ounces.

I think Douta makes a splash - plenty of companies across AIM are releasing PFSs with eye catching numbers but question marks immediately arise over funding - Thor could well put out a PFS with multibillion projected profits and a NPV at multiples of current mcap with a self funded route to immediate construction.

This is the environment one dreams of.

It’s interesting to question how high the share price can go. On the one hand you’d expect a company that’s debt free and making $150m for the next few years before adding in an even bigger project could well exceed $1B but we also have to acknowledge that up until now nothing has created the spark for a quick rerate.

It’s why management are spending a lot of time deciding on their next move re dividend/buyback, they know it needs to make a splash and catch the attention of the market.

I’m guessing it’ll come following Osun state update and Douta PFS, that’s the combination that could have maximum impact.

They’re a small team, best to get on with the job and put out a comprehensive (and well explained) rns detailing progress at some stage in the weeks ahead, no need for hand holding all the way along.

Hoping for a business update in Feb/March.

ISA you and me both know it’s coming here. It won’t go up in a straight line and will likely need one of the big updates we’re waiting on to smash through 23p resistance but we aren’t talking months, more likely weeks.

Douta PFS landing alongside gold price taking on $3000/oz and I think we see fireworks.

Well they are already creating more value than 99% of AIM companies… Actually go away and see if you can find five AIM businesses projected to make more than $150m profit this year.

Sure and it’s why we should take comfort here that the ECR directors are taking the vast majority of their (modest) salary in shares and are holding those shares - that suggests they are here for a big eventual pay day based on success rather than just raising to pay another year’s salary.

Worry if they switch to salaried pay but until then there’s no legit argument for calling Doc and Nick lifestyle directors.

Seems to me like they feel the need to pressure Octo while also telling investors that if it falls through there will be other options because the commodity being folded into deal is very in demand.

Hard to know for sure but I err on the side of a deal at least being done by mid year before any cash concerns rear their head again.

I’d say the opposite ontarget, buybacks would mean there is a consistent and dogged buyer (THX) that creates liquidity at each increasing share level. That’s the formula for a very rapid rerate without having to actually buy back too many shares.

Anyway we’ll find out soon… I’m sure the current gold price and accumulation of cash will give management the option to move soon on this dividend / buyback choice.

The moral of the story is focus on the fundamentals and share price appreciation is inevitable here. No company stays at a PE of 1 long term, it doesn’t happen, so what matters most is still the gold price, operational progress & stability and of course positive news re jurisdiction risk.

The share price will follow all being well.
