8th November they recorded 116 cases.
Yesterday (one month on) they had 19,842.
I don't want to fearmonger, but it does look like this is going to get seriously bad.

You dont spend half a million of your own savings unless you're very confident it will pay off. They know better than anyone what is on it's way.

If everyone who currently gets pinged 'pingdemic' and all that, now needs to upload a negative test everyday for 10 days. Trust me, we will need a lot more test than the goverment will currently have.
The tests we make have been through Porton Down, the Home use stuff will get sorted very quickly. Everyone's got this thing that the goverment want to buy Chinese made test? Of course they don't, they just haven't had any other options until now! They will very happily buy our Brittish made tests I'm sure.

If you come into contact with an Omicron case you need to take a test, every day for 10 days.
It's about to become the dominant strain and it looks like big time dominant.
This country alone will need 100's of thousands, probably even millions of test every single day! And for an indefinite period...... perfect time for your biggest national supplier to have their Brittish made tests ready to produce in mass! Surly big goverment order will come.....best get that bill sorted pronto first though Boris.

BD, I do own other shares, only 2 others (low for me) DVRG and AFC if your interested. Just not posted on their boards for over a month.
Either I have already said anything worth saying on them or others are saying what I think for me. ABDX is the one that interests me by far the most and as not many seem to post on here I find myself doing most of the talking....so yeah, come on folks, don't be shy. I could do with a rest.

Being his job is already on the line, he will know putting a form of lockdown in ("moving out of lockdown is irreversible" etc) now will probably mean the end of his premiership.
Pressure from his scientific advisers to Plan B (and more) now or be in big trouble down the line, which will also mean the end of his time as PM.
Answer Boris is testing, and lots and lots of it! It is practically the only option not to have a lockdown and keep things going. All good and well to show you have been vaccinated before going into a crowded place but that does not mean you don't have covid and can't spread it to others.
I wonder if we could end with a rule that you must upload a negative tests 2/3 times a week for you covid passport to be valid?......just a thought.

All good theory, but no one knows anything for sure. One bit of news can change everything very quickly and that news can come at any moment.
If those that are getting placement shares wanted to forward sell all of them we would have seen much more selling than we have. All those at 28p today are buys (though showing as sells) there have been a few larger sells yesterday but still small fry in comparison to the share pool. There are only 8 more trading days to the 21st. If I wanted to offload millions I would be selling more thank 100k a day?

Yes, I appreciate what you are saying but that's a very short term look ahead. My question was does anyone think it will be below 27/28p next month. I.e. mid Jan.
We would have had the RNS to say Avacta TT is complete, you would also guess in the current climate they will have no issues selling all that we can make.
Decent chance we may have Vatic TT complete by then as well,
Chance DHSC payment in, if not we are one month closer to that happening.
Always the outside chance of a nice suprise bit of news.

So, I can't see how, with all that happening on the backdrop of the worse covid wave in history the SP will be lower than it is today. But as I said, maybe I'm missing something so would be interested if anyone thinks differently?

BTW, if you do think this will be below 27/28p next month, I would very genuinely be interested to hear why. A bit of good grown up debate is always a good thing.

The placing is a significant thing to happen but its now old news, just causing a fairly pointless distraction. New shares are priced in already. Its why the SP went from 40p to 27p.
I just can't believe with all the bad (but good for this share) news going on there is not more interest in Europe's biggest LFT manufacturer right now? I guess its the "will placement shares make it go down" fear?
People should forget the placing. Yes it dilutes the shares (bad) but its put 5.5 million in the bank (good) they basically balance each other out, let's move on.
If you think ABDX SP will be higher next month then you should get some. If you think it will be lower than 27p you should sell.

Yes it's another example of what I said yesterday. It's all depends on what news channel/ paper you read.
Some with headlines trying to put a positive spin 'vaccines should work' others saying vaccines will not work anywhere near as well as they do on other verients.
Basically it's a very small study on the Pfizer vac only, so those stating vaccineS, are wrong it's one if them! It's been done in a lab, not real world meaning they still don't really know. Its saying Omicron can evade vaccines but not completely so they "should" offer "some" protection. AKA we still don't know but, it has a hint of laying groundwork. Can't say they don't work very well as people will stop coming forward for booters, but need to start letting people know they are probably not as protected as they may think (booster or no booster)
What we do know is, if people test themselves regularly it stops the spread, which stops people getting covid, which stops people going to hospital with covid, which stops people dieing of covid.....test, test test and get your boosters, its the only way.

And now there's a "Stealth Omicron"....AKA another verient of concern.

Totally agree, even if Omicron turns out "mild" if cases sky rocket then the need and desire to test will increase. If its dangerous to our children then testing paranoia will soon kick off and it will go mental!
It's why i'm finding the markets general reaction at the moment bizarre to say the least. Its all over every news channel, with very little doubt now that the 4th and worse ever wave is coming, and coming fast! Yet markets going up and covid test stocks heading down? What, massive 4th wave will mean less testing will be needed? As I said earlier, the only explanation is "I don't want that to be true" so I will convince myself its not..denial.
Goverments can not afford (politically or financially) more lockdowns = testing.
Will they keep offering them for free or start making employers pay for them = more private testing.
Will they let people move around freely while a constantly mutating covid is around = testing.
All, in all, it all points to testing, testing, testing and for a very long time yet.

But Omicron can probably bypass vaccines. SA vaccine take up is lower than ours but I believe they still have 26% fully jabbed which is not insignificant.
Their cases are going through the roof because jabbed, previously infected are all getting as well.
Maybe Boris is saving christmas but maybe he is also putting the final nail into his career coffin?
Christmas will not be saved if daily cases get to 100k+ and a large chuck of as are ill over Xmas.
If after that we see hospitals getting over run and deaths rising he will not be forgiven for doing so little right now. Add to that, if Omicron ends up killing even one child (God forbid) he is well and truly finished in my opinion.

Was it maybe something to do with that case numbers line going vertically strait up in SA? They already had Delta as well and until a couple of weeks ago managed to kept their number down to a couple of hundred a day. Omicron appears and within a couple of weeks cases are over 10,000 a day.....huuum, but we can't be sure it's more transmissible....jeeez, give me strength!

Yes ditto with not wanting to fearmonger...however I do want to share what I have been looking at.
If you Google covid cases you get a good Google line graph where you can track cases and deaths in any county, on any day since covid records began, or you can look at the world picture as a whole.
If you look at the UK you can see how the vaccines have worked. Cases up or the same but deaths down or plateauing. When you look at the world picture something is just not right.
If we take the start of this year as the start of the full on world vaccination program beginning.
In this time over 8 billion vaccines have been put into arms. If you look at the numbers recorded on the 6th December last year (so before vaccinations) case numbers are basically the same, in fact slightly higher now than last year.
Deaths 6/12/20 - 7682
Deaths 6/12/21 - 6782
So cases the same deaths only down 12% after 8 billion vaccine doses? Sorry but looking at that either countries are not reporting their numbers correctly or the vaccines are not as protective as we are told? I'm not anti vaccines but the first one was meant to give us 90+% protection, we now need 3 of them, which "should" give us good protection. We previously thought its a good idea to wait 3 months between them but now don't think that's a problem...all this while globally around 7,000 people are still losing their lives prematurely every single day!
I can understand why goverments are pushing vaccinations hard, they clearly do some good which is better than nothing but I think the rhetoric will need to change back to testing at some point. It's clear, the only way you can be sure Covid doesn't get the better of you is not catching it.

There are so many conflicting media articles on this at the moment it's hard to know who to believe.
What I have noticed and is telling is any Financial/ market driven paper, and / or right wing is painting a "its looking like it will be milder than Delta all will be fine" picture. Others are sticking to, we just don't know yet.
I does look to me that this period will be looked back on as the in 'denial phase.'
Numbers tell a clear story yet there still (according so some papers) is a question around transmission ability... errrr hello!
Next is hospitalisations. This, the latest from SA.

But some are saying this might be due to other infectious disease? We need more data don't worry those in hospital only have mild symptoms....well why are they in hospital then?

As I say, numbers don't lie. It suits goverments and the markets interests to keep everyone going as they are and nice and calm. But, they can't hide what is an obvious truth for ever. This thing is going to get bad....stay safe.
