The reason UK covid stocks have gone up today is because of the hint free test will be coming to an end.
As I said the other day, this may sounds bad news but is actually the opposite for UK test producers and manufacturers. They don't supply the goverments tests and were unlikely to do so in the future.
No one can compete with free, so taking away the free tests opens up the UK consumer / company market for ABDX, AVCT, Vatic etc.
Crazy when you think about it. Good news for British firms because they no longer will need to complete with the British Brexit goverment giving out free Chinese made tests.....errrm weren't they meant to help UK business?

Vatic have the full package. They are the golden goose. Looks like they / us will have everything in place ready for the **** show that will come after the forthcoming restriction lift.

Yesterday over 10,000 people in the world died of covid.
At the very peak of the first original covid, around 7,000 people died each day until numbers started coming down.
Remember how worried we all were seeing those numbers of cases/deaths going up, and up. All tuning into the Boris announcements each day. "Mask, hands, distance protect the NHS" People crossing the road to avoid crossing paths outside.
Yet...Here we are with global deaths nearly 50% higher than they were then but now its all fine! The only difference that we are now being told that is what we should think so that is what we (well most people) see.

A potential new more dangerous verient already out or coming.
Vaccine protection now 30% less and still declining for anyone who had a booster in or before October (that's the most venerable)

But the fact we haven't got a TR1 suggests they did all take some. The same amount (percentage) of new shares as their existing holding, keeping their total percentage holding the same.

Jrlomax, you keep saying that but if I own e.g 3% of a company and I then take on 3% of any new shares, then I still hold 3% of the company.

People need to take a breath, this is not a oil spud that was due to be complete a few weeks ago. We are not overdue on any news. Next one will be a TU or confirmation the Vatic TT is complete (due before end of next month)
Yes we would all like a bit of reassurance but I can garentee most of those screaming for an update will be the first ones to come on here and complain if the RNS just says "yes we are still working on stuff, and yes Vatic TT is still due end of Q1 etc, the end"
Quiet time when news is overdue can be a good reason for concern we are not in that situation.

The multi billion pounds Diagnostics industry existed before Covid and now thanks to the big global advert for LFT will be even bigger going forward.

The scientists are saying it will be several years before it maybe settles down into some sort of predictable pattern and I'm going with what they say. We are just waiting now for the next verient and it's a toss of a coin of how deadly it will be.
If people want to believe everything is fine and will stay that way, well good for them.....sadly i think the liklihood of that is very slim.

Someone plucks 7p out of the air and people buy into it. Its ridiculous ! I will put my neck on the line and say now that there is no way it will go that low. Simply for the reasons given in my last post.
7p would be an Mcap for 8.5 million. That's less than the amount owed to us from one client. Worse case we may need to wait until May for that (3 months). Remember there is no legal grounds to not pay that bill. We will therefore get that money at some point by law! Maybe not all of it but most and you don't get companies being valued at less than the cash they have in the bank.

Wow, perhaps a reminder of what you can get for 15.3 million now.
A company that turned over 11 million last year (that's 73% of the Mcap and most of that was non covid tests)
A company owed 9 million cash (that's 60% of the Mcap)
A company that has just added an extra 9 million (60% mcap) of investment in machinery and technology to its asset value.
The assets are considerably higher than the current company value.
The LFT market is growing even without any covid tests.
If this is not a bargain I don't know what is!

Doesn't sound like there is any plan to stop LFT testing anytime soon.
Those that are convincing themselves that the Goverment now thinks covid is over should read what the governments scientific advisors are telling them. Testing is here to stay!

Look, I'm as frustrated as anyone about not having 'news'. When you don't get it, I can understand how a bit of AIM paranoia starts to kicking in. Most of us who have done this game for a bit will have a bad story or two. However!
There is an alternative to it must mean we are all doomed.
What do we know, AVCT test is being worked on still but will take some time (summer). Vatic test will be done by the end of Q1 (March). Its not the end of March yet. Therefore there maybe just isn't any specific news to tell? I have seen this many times, pressure to give some news so the company gives some that just says, "all the same, in positive talks, progressing well etc, etc then everyone says "what was the point of that" blar blar moan!
If you are in charge and you know in a few weeks you can say Vatic test TT is complete, first batch of 1 million tests delivered, pre orders for X amount each month so now we can confirm we should make X over the next X months...you will wait until you can say stuff like that in replacement to...we are working on it.
Just throwing the alternative and probably more realistic version to, all AIM CEO's only have one thing mind. Purposely ruin the companies they founded and personal reputations in an elaborate scheme to steal PI's cash.
All of us put together will have nowhere near as many shares as Chris Yeate's and Hand have. No one will profit more than they will if the SP goes up! That is what they will want as much as us and be working towards making happen.

The goverment will give details on 'how to live with covid' a week tomorrow. I can garentee this will not be "well don't do anything, just treat it like the flu". I should imagine they will basically change the words 'need to', to 'we advise'.
If you have symptoms you 'need to' do a LFT test and self isolate if positive....If you have symptoms 'we advise' you to do a LFT and self isolate.
This mild verient is still killing around 10k people every day! Unfortunately it is not something that can now be ignored and forgotten about. Covid testing will be in all of our lives for a very long time yet.

It's what attracted me here as well. All this "is it us?". If you are the manufacturer you get multiple chances at that and whoever it is, you can potentially get them to do some outsourcing your way.
No one can compete with the Chinese for man hour costs, but now ABDX have fully automated systems in place these costs are lowered. I would exspect its would be cost effective for a Chinese (or elsewhere) firm to outsource manufacturering here. An instant footprint in the UK and saving on logistical costs and challenges to the UK and EU markets.
It's an example of how quickly things could change here. An RNS saying a big US/Chinese, whatever firm is using ABDX for its outsourced manufacturing and we could be up to full capacity almost instantly.
As you say, the difficult and costly part is done. Just the case of filling the built stadium now which is being worked on. Build it and they will come!

You dont build this area of a business unless you know you have the orders to fill. Several months ago they had 600k pre ordered. I exspect this will now be a lot more. Product should be ready to produce in mass within the next 6 weeks. I exspect the US will be where most are headed.

Yes still with my 78k ish on a painful paper loss.
Still ,I put my money in this one with a plan to take it out in 2 years so. I have time, and I'm still very confident after those 2 years I will look back at the dawn of the LFT market and the time people thought Covid had finished as that old original Omicrom wave started coming down with a smile.

To add some balance I think it's important to.
A) remember ABDX was running a successful profit making business long before Covid began.
B) LFT (none covid) market is due to double over the next 5 years.
C) there very much IS still a need to keep testing for covid. We as individuals mostly still want it, business definitely want it (bar airlines) and its needed and yes quality (as always) test have a place in that market.
People need to look past one week, a month. Covid is a forever thing so testing for covid is also now a forever thing. Maybe not is the mass we see today, but there will always be a need to test here and now do you/I have it now and for the foreseeable future that's LFT's.

I wrote an email to Kevin Hollinrake(MP for the area Abingdon are based) to bring his attention to the missing payment and other issues. Fair play he just sent me a reply. Here it is.

Thank you for your email. It's not something we always disclose, but rest assured that I'm working closely with Abingdon and DHSC to resolve this matter. It's a commercial issue and not something I have jurisdiction over, but I will of course press for early resolution. I also understand Chinese tests haven't been authorised by Porton Down yet.

Forget investments, this is all a national scandal now and as long as we all just come to LSE to have a good moan about it, it will continue and happen again in future. I ask all of you to do the same, contact MP's, the press and do something about all this.

I beg to differ with AbC-19. We can live with covid so long as our Antibody protection remains sufficient to keep us out of hospital.
The NHS already has a massive 2 year backlog. So keep getting them to down tools for a few months each autumn to jab the entire nation and keep that backlog going? Or, test everyones Antibody levels and give boosters to only those that need them. I think it's the only way, if not the UK other countries will do it. 15 months since the vaccines were available, massive effort later and only just over 50% of the world has one, or more. Its impossible to jab over 7 billion people each year so I think Antibody testing is the only answer....we will see.

The ODX situation should work well for us (I know the market clearly isn't feeling that today) They are now out of the consortium so if AbC-19 sales do kick off that's more work and money to ABDX. The bigger (hopefully) thing will be the embarrassment this will cause the government. The media are smelling blood and loving piling on the pressure with Partygate etc. I'm sure they will get hold of this and not report it nicely on Mr Brexit Johnson.
On the 21st the government will announce their long term plans for living with Covid. This story dropping, which could include how they nearly sent Abingdon bust as well is perfect bad timing form them and good for us. Will they do anything about it? probably not but the chances of them throwing us a bone or two to stop the bad press coming their way have surly increased.
