Well we have snippets of what the goverment will do in the current situation. Basically, cut testing back and keep vaccinating millions of people as and when they feel it necessary. All well and good.
However we haven't heard anything yet on what they will do if the current situation changes. I.e. a variant appears that evades vaccine protection.
They should talk about this later but maybe they will not want to damper their "everything is awesome" moment.
However they must have a plan for 'what if this does not go to plan and turns bad'? Hopefully this will not be continuing to turn to the trusted Chinese to provide us tests people can use at home.
Lessons must be learned and if the country is to be truly prepared in future it needs companies like ABDX. I will be listening to whatever gets said / asked carefully.

It could just be they are working on the Vatic TT (as confirmed in the tweet on Friday) which they said will be done by end of March (not there yet)
Once completed they will have a better understanding of future revenue so are holding back the TU until then, non covid sales are ticking along, the government are still dangling a carrot and implying they may pay us soon but haven't...and that's about it.
I agree they should have better communication to stop paranoia kicking in, but it could just be there is no real news to tell?

I agree and see the same, but my point is Covid doesn't care that we don't care anymore. (In fact it's the best possible news covid can have).
Its mother nature, with the same natural instinct to survive and thrive as us humans have. It doesn't care if we can't go to work or on holiday. The mutations are random. It constantly tries billions of versions of itself knowing eventually one will be successful. Find a host and replicate fast.
I hope and want the next verient to be mild as anyone else, but hope and want will not make that happen.
The fact is, it has an equal chance of being more deadly as it does of being as, or more mild.
I therefore find it bemusing that people are bying the 'its no longer a problem now or in future' line.

Hello, Its Covid here.
I just thought I would drop you all a note to inform you that in line with the UK Government’s announcements today I have decided to take a step back.
Its been a great 2 years or so but I appreciate I might have pushed things a little too hard at times and you guys could do with a rest. Your governments are clearly worried about your respective economies, and I respect that. Also, I would not want to infect a bunch of poor people, Yuck! So, I will let you all get nice and rich again. If I do come back to visit, I will keep myself nice and mild, you will barely notice me because rich people are cool!
So, just remember to do as much mixing with other people as you can. If you feel a bit unwell DON’T worry about it, all will be fine, just get out there and have some much needed fun!...I’m sure I will (while resting myself of course!)
Spend your money on the right things like going on holiday before these businesses go bust. If I do have an accidental mutation slip (oops silly me), I will try and keep it away from anyone traveling so you guys can put a quick stop to any global spread and keep that party going.
Don’t worry I’m an honest virus and you have my word. I know I haven’t played by the rules much to date but this time I really mean it! You humans are just to clever for me with your vaccines and all. I give up! You win so I will leave you be to enjoy your lives.

There you have it. Nice old Covid has finally worked out that it's been causing us humans way to much trouble. Covid would never want our economy to suffer so now promises to behave and not follow its mother nature processes.
If it has to mutate it will make sure its comletly ramdom nature will be kept under control and if will do its best to make it mild.

We sit and wait to hear what gets said today.
If the market thinks stopping free testing is bad news for ABDX then so be it (as I said, crazy for me to knock a stock for losing something it never had so has not lost anything at all)
However there could be some good news today. There will be talk and questions around being prepared for future waves so an announcement on investment in UK LFT manufactureing is not out of the question.
The mutation proof part of the Vatic test is its very big selling point. If I want to be prepared for a highly contagious possibly more deadly verient, I want LFT's ready to go that have the insurance that they will work against anything the virus does. This means they can be stockpiled and ready to go. This is where Vatic could clean up in a big way.

Drop is well overdone. People are forgetting this was a business before covid, will continue to be one whatever the covid situation. Scaled-down testing (for now) in the UK does not mean covid tests are no longer needed in the whole world.
ABDX will soon be making the best one, easiest to use and mutation proof.
I don't care what the market does today. I'm still confident we will see a very different picture by the end of next month.

As I said before, for me, the worse place possible is for the goverment to be handing out free tests that they are not purchasing from you.
Them not doing this anymore may not mean much, may mean a lot but it does mean, for sure that ABDX are no longer in the worse (for UK market only) scenario possible.
Will the rest of the market see it that way, lets hope so, if not its a top up opportunity (for me) before Vatic news drops. Vatic are focusing on the US market which is ramping up their testing supplies as the UK cuts back....time will tell who made the right call. My gut tells me today's announcements will come back to haunt Boris and gang very soon.

They have gone from looking for a couple of positions to 10. Mostly managers, managing a team of people. These guys are clearly on the up!
I guessing they know they will be getting lots of money through the books very soon?

Pumpky, your posts are childish. I shouldn't bother answering but, for this time I will only because you clearly, genuinely don't understand how big business works.
For example, I am currently working for a client that 3 or 4 years ago sued the company I work for, for $400 million. This was not because the project we did for them was a failure but a certain part of it they didn't think was done to spec (my firm won the case BTW)...BUT! they the client still came back and used us again many times!
Its surprisingly common, why? because its about business! A legal dispute about section 3.2 of contract A, does not mean you can't and won't sign contract B. If contract B is beneficial to both parties then the deal will happen because its business, not personal and you move on if that is what is best for the firm you represent.
£9million is small money in the grand scheme of things. The goverment is constantly being sued or in a legal dispute or 50!
I have a concern that the current people in charge of DHSC / government are not grown up business people so I'm also not saying for this reason that we 'will' get a government contract but, if we do have some grownups in the room the fact they owe us money does not mean we can't or won't get one.
This is a political issue now, the government wants one thing more than anything and that is to win the next election. If they think "we have created a UK industry and made sure we can supply UK made LTF's for the future" sounds good and might win/win back a vote or two, whoever is holding back our payment will be quickly overruled and it will happen.

I have a feeling we will be getting something interesting happening next week.
Could be bad, could be OK, good, very good or absolutely amazing!
There are not many companies out there that can go from a turnover of 11 million a year to 400+ almost (potentially) instantly. That is very much a genuine posability and we just need a hint that this is where ABDX are heading and it will go crazy!

I think we should be in for an interesting day on Monday with or without an RNS.
The goverment will announce its living with Covid plan. I understand this is a proper paper that will include how they will remain prepared in future, ready for new verients and any completely new pandemics.
Outside chance they could mention something about monitoring Antibodies which would send things flying over here. A high chance, I would say they will talk of ensuring they can source PPE and testing capacity quickly and not be caught with their pants down like they have been to date. This must surly mean we as a nation can produce what we need, which means investment in companies like ABDX. Perhaps confirmation of the date they will stop free LFT's for all?
Not sure what, but I'm very confident there will be something that the Market will react to.
As the SP is already below company asset value we have a bigger chance of going considerably higher than lower.

Just to give an example of what I just posted.
I work for a large Engineering firm. We do the Engineering (design) Procurement and Construction management (EPC) for clients on multi billion pound projects.
Our own, and nearly all contracts we sign (Procurement and Construction part) with each (multiplel) firms involve clauses. Depending on the size of the contract of course, these can be e.g 100k per day (and more)extra bonus, for each day you complete ahead of schedule/milestone. This works both ways so, 100k per day fine/off final payment per day after schedule....so 2 weeks before, on, or after schedule can mean making lots of money, a bit or after lots of time and work losing money!
It's why im sure, for big business (but I think most middle and small as well) it's a no brainer.
The instruction can either be.
Don't feel right? stay home! Or , don't feel right , do a test we gave you, if it's not covid and you feel up to it come in.
Option A) keeps lots of people off, lots of the time.
B) keeps it as it was before, with just the covid cases away.
With NI payments, office space, sick pay, business trips, expenses, parking, security etc, etc maybe £10 a week per person to keep covid away and keep the high ground with "nothing is more important then our staffs health and wellbeing" is nothing to pay!

I will answer it...Covid is about 70x more contagious than Flu!...no balls!!
So...if you run a business with 100 people maybe 1 will be off from time to time with flu, no big deal. but ....70% of your workforce/team off, in and around the same time can bring your company.to a standstill. Maybe just for a few weeks but that is more than enough to send most business/departments to the walland cause a massive headache. Scheduling, manpower plans, profit/loss charts all over the place....this is the very BIG diferance!
Businesses needs garentees, assurance and planning! Covid (even the mild version of) can screw all that up. Its peanut cost to test your workforce and keep it (best you can) from your door compared to the cost of it all going horribly covid wrong!

Thank you for the efforts you are making with the Abingdon situation. I hope you agree that the situation does not only represent a good and maybe missed opportunity for the local and national economy, but it is also a public health and national security matter.

The ability for us all to use LFT’s at home has unquestionably saved countless lives, kept people together, the economy going and brought confidence to all. We all know new variants, or other pandemics will come again (sadly of course) in future. 

I’m not sure if you are aware that one of the other very few UK companies capable of manufacturing LFT (Omega Diagnostics) was brought out last week by the Chinese firm. This is due to the same reasons that Abingdon find themselves in. A weak financial position brought on by our very own Government not only not providing any support but doing the exact opposite. Twisting the knife so these companies that can provide these national security items are brought to their knees so they can then be brought on the cheap.

The extra salt in the wound is these Chinese firms can now do this because they are so rich with UK taxpayers money provided to them by the government for their second-rate tests.

What will we do if the next variant is a bad one, there is a global scranble for LFT’s that work, and the Chinese can’t / won’t supply them? Surely these UK firms need protecting?

This is a government that promised us Brexit would be good for British business. I appreciate it’s a complex situation, but the facts are.

British made test can not pass the ‘additional’ approval process (red tape) added for ‘them only’ by the government. Fair enough if this applied to everyone but it isn’t for tests made in China giving them a massive unfair advantage.

As a result, billions of pounds have been spent on these Chinese tests. UK taxpayers’ money they are now using to buy our own national ability to make these tests from ourselves, with our very own money!

Surly this is not the vision of Brexit anyone wanted, expected or can be classed as acceptable?

Abingdon will be next, a sitting duck waiting to be brought on the cheap. I hope national (and no personal) interest prevails and whoever does have the jurisdiction to put this national embarrassment to an end does so and quickly.

A level playing field and an honest government that pays its bills is all that is being asked.

Well hopefully we will get an RNS tomorrow to clarify what all this Wondfo stuff is about. BTW I only posted about it the other day (should have done it before sorry) but I can tell you it has been on their Pocket Diagnostics site for at least a month!
It means something, even if its a minimal sellers/supplier percentage but still worth an RNS!
Whatever it is, it's a relationship at the least and Wondfo are big boys worth £16billion! ABDX will now get their calls answered by them and these sort of relationships can turn to outsourcing manufacturing, potentially takeovers etc, so well worth mentioning as it's the suff that can get the market excited! ARE YOU LISTENING BOD?!!

I will add to that, that I think many don't fully appreciate the future prospects and how we could get there very quickly.
We can now make 150 million tests a year. It's around £3 per test (ABDX charge) and that's conservative. So 150 ×3 would be a turnover of £450 million. We just need one test to take off or a bigger player to outsource some of their manufacturing.
Machinery and systems all paid for and in place, it could all happen very quickly!

Wadogara, I don't know but my guess is its not (new version) as its not ready yet. However, I think the Vatic test is. The TT is just getting the mass manufacturering proccess side done. The test itself was made months ago and would be available in the numbers required to go for validation / approval.

Yes, the goverment will have to make sure other tests are available for consumer use, and now they don't have to pay for the tests (go cheap Chinese made) they will probably go all patriotic on us and won't UK made tests on the market first.
It will be interesting to see what they do with the free test. Forward notice will make many stockpile them and open up a black market of them being sold on ebay etc...they could get banned from sale?
It's all good! UK goverment hopefully coming to an end of holding us and other UK covid test makers back. Not for us as individuals but for this stock, the sooner they stop the free tests the better.
