Anyway, on other news. My kids school just sent all the parents an e-mail to say Covid case in the school are rising fast so a reminder to keep our kids at home if unwell and do covid tests, if possible, etc.
Makes you think there is bound to be a perfect covid storm coming soon. With the Football world cup being held over November / December this year. Everyone packing into pubs which will all be indoor events, this all closely followed by Christmas parties and the day itself / new year.
Whatever variant we have during this period of time (i.e. hopefully a mild one) its absenteeism that will be the big problem. You feel like bar staff have next to no chance of avoiding it. Imagen you own a large sports bar, during England’s first game 60% of your staff get covid so England vs Wales you can only take 40% of the trade you would have done usually. Will be the same story up and down the country. Christmas supply chains all over the place as well as so many people off with Covid. Schools closing as not enough teaches and the bigger problem of medical personnel off as well.
The 2 questions that will have a massive effect on this stock.
How much will business / the government step in to protect their staff? i.e. provide tests and a testing strategy.
If the average individual feels ill and has run out of free Covid tests. Will curiosity still lead them to paying for one to find out if it is in fact Covid they have or not?
Personally, I think a decently high percentage for both meaning a very big Covid test market is still out there.
The new e-commerce site could be a big cash cow!

From the RNS that informed us of the 10 million test sale.

"Abingdon will be launching, in calendar Q3 2022, a new e-commerce site, which will feature a range of lateral flow self-tests and professional-use tests under the Abingdon Simply Test brand. The COVID-19 test is one of these Abingdon Simply Tests."

So the test they sold is one that will be on the new site that isn't actually live to the public yet...good start!

We will get a RNS for the launch of the e-commerce site this week.
They managed to sell 10 million tests (possibly going up the 30 million) before the site was even live. I’m looking forward to hearing more details on this new revenue stream and what could be a very big earner for ABDX.
It would be very nice timing if the Taiwan EUA come in at the same time so that first 10 million is on its way… I keep my fingers crossed for that.
If not that, then we have the ruling on the case that could/should drop any day. Lots of news due in a short period of time.

Yes definitely a distinct whiff of desperation in that article.
They did not win the PPE case! it was an emphatic loss on their part yet the claim victory?? It ironic they claim to be the good guys holding the government account yet think its ok for them to outright lie to their followers and donators, so they keep on giving them money.
As I said, be careful. The first news we get from the ruling will probably come from a GLP tweet and they will claim a victory whatever the judge says.

For what its worth, I’ll putting it out there that my reckoning says we will get two good RNS’s by the end of next week.
We know, we will get at least one about the launch of the new e-commerce site but I am also feeling one of the big 3 will come in by the end of next week as well.

Yeah there is no buttering it up. These are difficult times with nervous investors across the whole market. This share needs some buyers coming in, and in good numbers.
It would not be a bad time for the BoD to do an investors presentation and/or get involved in some wider spread roadshows, investor seminars etc. they need to go looking for new money to come in. I think most investors are just not aware of the opportunities here or, are still seeing ABDX as a 100% Covid test company.
The one thing I will say on the upside is…. We get frustrated waiting for news but being a manufacture ABDX have many fingers in many pies. We are not waiting on just one bit of news, it could be many and at this moment in time we have 3, what could be big bits of news coming soon.
The longer the wait for the first one, squeezes the space to wait for the next ones that are lined up behind. I’m hoping we get 3 bits of good news in quick succession. This is ideal for getting momentum back into a stock as there is little time for people to get bored and move on and people maybe see it on the top riser’s board and then again a week or two later it catches eyes and interest….. here’s hoping anyway!

My understanding is that if any information stated in a RNS changes then this needs to be communicated to the Market.
Think a new investor reading all the RNS statements and basing their purchase of shares on the fact! (it’s in a RNS) that one of the tests ABDX produce is going through the FDA, EUA process.
If their (Vatic) application failed / was rejected and ABDX know about this, then it would be classed as misleading the Market if not stated in a RNS.
Don’t get me wrong, all firms are very bad at doing this and seem to always get away with it but these are the rules.

As far as being late to the party, yes ideal time would have been the first covid test on the market. We all saw what that did for some stocks but little old Taiwan wanting 10 to maybe 30 million tests through ABDX shows a big market is still there. Just wait until Autumn/Winter, people wanting to be Covid free for Christmas, business struggling with the absenteeism and I’m sure we will see a very big market (Europe/US) for Covid testing remains firmly in place.

Full FDA approval takes years. Having the EUA in place means they can cut corners and do it much sooner but it still takes time.
I did some research to try and find out roughly how long but failed as I could see when other tests got approved but couldn't find out when they were submitted for approval.
Also, how long it takes for one test does not mean it will take the same for another.
They (FDA) said they will prioritise those that have the capability to be mass produced so with Vatics ability to get ABDX making up to 100 million a year will help but it will take as long as it takes.
ABDX would need to put it in a RNS if it's failed so it must still be in the process and will get there one day.

A wee bit of a extreme way to look at it Pumpky.
They are a small firm filled with some very clever individuals who have developed a very clever test.
They are not looking to conquer the US. Just get their test past the EUA approvals so they can sell them there. It’s a big and rich country so I’m sure they will do well and there is no reason why the FDA would not approve the test (trusting its gone through all the hoops and is as good as they say it is).

A company valued at under £13 million.
A court ruling due any day that could/should trigger a payment to be received of up to £9 million.
A EUA approval due any day that will trigger an order for 10 million tests.
Another EAU due any day that will trigger another multi million £ order.
Yes, a risk that none of these come good but all 3 have a much more likely than unlikely chance of succeeding IMO.
I would love to be corrected and know what one, but there can not be another company on AIM with a Mcap in this range offering a better near-term news flow with capabilities to transform the company in such a big way?
On the rewards front maybe an oil exploration firm that has SPUD but their chances of success are low where the odds of any one of the 3 things I listed above coming in are high (IMO).
If anyone knows of a better risk/reward investment out there, can you please let me know.

Sorry but I think it's you that needs to manage your expectations.
ABDX have zero control over the courts and when a judge finishes writing a ruling.
They were very clear that they do not know when this will be but we're "hopeful" that it "might" come before summer (tomorrow) this is clearly not stating it will come on that date. As they said, they don't know when it will come but gave us the same info they would have got. A ballpark period of time that we are now in.

We have had 3 positive and fairly significant bits of news in the last month and we should get 2 or 3 more in the coming month. Its hardly a news drought.
The SP was also up to 62p in the last year. Previous prices don't mean a thing.
Covid on the rise, this will not drop to 8p unless some bad news drops which I for one think is unlikely.

Well not sure where you are getting the 8p theory from, but luckily ABDX have multiple bits of news due any day.
I have a feeling we are in for a big week. If not this one I would say definitely next.

Yes totally agree Zoom, we are waiting on 3 big RNS statements and we only really need any one of them to come in and this should start to fly....law of averages!
Any of them could drop at any time.
Just trying to free some more funds to get some more before the herd turns up.

The honest answer is I don’t know.
It depends first of all on how much of the money ABDX get and if the market reacts in just adding the cash value to the SP or realising its money that will be reinvested by a BoD who know what they are doing so adds that it means to future earnings on top.
There are 122 million shares so just the cash value will add 0.8p per million to the SP. So £5 million would add minimum 4p, the full £9 million = 7.2p, but this is complete minimum it should be a lot more as it represents more than just cash (security, re-investment and a cleared name)

The next 2/3 RNS statements (trusting positive) are probably more about what they put to bed than what they bring.
ABDX are at this stupid low Mcap because the Market judged them, in some ways fairly but mostly unfairly on the Government contract and then the delayed Avacta test.
As previously discussed, when you pick the bones out of those two events ABDX did not do a lot wrong. It was mostly bad luck on their part, but the market basically said, ‘you are not very good at this LFT business are you and some concerns if the BoD are maybe bit corrupt with the government.
This was also followed up by a general feeling of Covid days and therefore making money from Covid testing are over. So basically, bad BoD and chance to make money from Covid tests is over has led us to where we are (SP) today.
In the next week or two we should hopefully get a government win in the GLP case. This basically clearing ABDX name as well and putting all of that bad press in the past. This should be followed soon after by the government paying all/most of the bill which will clear ABDX name completely.
Hopefully this will be closely followed by the Taiwan EUA kick starting the 10 million order that could go up to 30 million…. Money still in Covid tests…hell yeah!
So, if this news does come in, its a double win. Not only bringing in the money and business but also waking the market doubters up! Whatever your preconceptions of ABDX were before are mistaken. Good company, well run and on the up!

Yes, well said Christo4. It is amazing me how slow the market is reacting here. Yes, a few possible reasons I guess (some burnt fingers from so called covid stocks and a general bear market moving in)
But surly the Golden Goose all us investors (well me at lest) go looking for is covered in ABDX right now.
Cheap, get in before the crowd to maximise those returns….. big tick!
Security, no danger of going bust or in need of a placing any time soon (I know some may disagree with me on the placing front but from what I see defo)… tick.
Growing sector… tick
Exciting Pipeline of future work… tick.
Cash flow already coming into the business…tick.
Capability to expand and at a fast rate… tick.
Multiple revenue streams… tick.
Cash… tick (will be big tick if/when government money comes through)
Experience and knowhow within the BoD and staff team.
BoD with high number of shares paid for with their own money .

All this basically makes the risk / reward for ABDX very, very good IMO.
I’m not saying no risk as of course there is always some, but minimal risk with what could be very high rewards….. Golden Goose!

There is no such thing as herd immunity with Covid. All scientists have ruled it out in the same way the human race have never been able to get herd immunity against Flu or the common cold.
I don’t like peddling doom so good for anyone who believes Covid will never cause a problem again. I hope you are right but personally I can’t see myself living the rest of my life never going through a period where covid is causing major problems for society ever again.
It might or might not be next autumn / winter, the one after that, or the one after that, or every winter but when you have something you can’t eliminate and is constantly changing its form it’s a matter of time IMO before you get a version that is worse than the version before it.
Autumn begins in 3 months and as the days get shorter and colder, we can basically guarantee the covid cases will go up and then up some more.
The best-case scenario is we still have Omicron (current form) as the dominant variant. This will be good for keeping deaths low (not saying acceptable) but keeping people from dyeing does not mean you no longer have a very big problem.
All businesses will be getting worried. They can’t ever say, “oh well even if you might have covid man up and come to work anyway.” The advice has to be, and always will be stay at home.
Covid is now so contagious that the chances of you getting it before next winter is over is much higher than the chances of avoiding it. 60/70% of the workforce having a week off sick at some point will cost global business £100’s of billions in lost productivity, supply chain issues, late contractual penalty fines, sick pay etc.
We will see what happens but I’m definitely expecting the big firms at the very least, that make billions in profit to see it as a no brainer to spend a few million on testing their staff to mitigate the mayhem that will be caused by the mass absenteeism.
We may all be done with covid but Its not done with us IMHO.

Lots to happen over the next few weeks to keep interest here. I’m expecting within the next 3 weeks we will get.
Outcome of the court case.
The EUA from Taiwan to kick start the 10 million order.
Bit more of a longer shot but no reason why not the Vatic EUA as well.
If all 3 of these come good in a positive way its surely got to put the SP in high 20 to 30p range at least!
