Pumpky, I presume you don't hang out in any gyms or know many millennials then? There are plenty of people out there that are quite obsessed with their health. Just the curiosity factor will get to a lot of people. Maybe not a massive market for them but there is a market for this stuff for sure. Even just 1% of a world with billions of people means you can sell many millions of something so long as you get your marketing right.

Maybe the next bit of news we get here will be about the Digital App LFT Reader?
I don’t have the time today to dig through the RNS’s but I’m fairly sure in one it says it will be launched in Q3 this year.
I know some other firms also do this so its not a first, but they sounded like they are very confident in the technology, and they have created their own innovations which they are getting internationally patented.
It is the future, telephone call with your GP (already happening). GP “ok I will send you, or go to your local pharmacy, or go online to get this LFT so we can confirm what it is, or is not (something we all currently have to book in and go to hospital to do). Before doing the test, download this App which will read the test for you (taking out any user error) and send the results of the test to me, I will then call you back to discuss the next steps”
If you think about the time saved nationally with such a system in place. All those 1000’s of trips to the GP and hospitals happening every day, the hours spent in waiting (disease spreading) rooms, the 5 trips to the GP’s/ hospitals before being correctly diagnosed. This in turn meaning issues can be treated and cured much quicker and before they may become much bigger problems that require hospital stays and treatments.
The above meaning the relatively low (few quid) cost of a ‘free’ LFT on the NHS would easily pay for themselves several times over for the longer-term money saved to the NHS and less days off from work by the working population will mean higher tax revenue into the treasury.
It’s coming and hopefully ABDX can be a big part of it.

Yep, talking about it is very out of fashion but this doesn't mean anything to covid itself. Its still very much with us, thriving and still a very big problem that won't just disappear because no one's talking about it.

We all saw what Omicron did last winter, we now have BA.5 which is much more transmissible than Omicron and can reinfect people within a month.
Add people worried about energy bills much more likely to be sharing warm indoor public places and the winter World Cup.... you don't need to be a genius to work out covid cases are very likely going to be much worse than they were last year.

Last I checked my pound in my bank was worth the same as a pound in the UK's treasury. Why does it matter who we sell them to? Goverments, business, Joe public...who cares its all revenue.

Wow £12K of shares sold and a 0.5p drop in the SP seems to have pushed a few over the edge. It apparently makes ABDX the same as a company that shows movies and has over £5 billion in debt. This company with its £7 million in the bank is now suddenly on the brink of collapse! Oh and to top it off JB thinks this is all my fault?
The stresses that come with investing are not for the fainthearted, but I suggest some people take a breath and get a grip or just do themselves a favour and get out of the kitchen.
Of course no sugar coating that things aren’t great at the moment but you need to go with what we know, not what we might panic stricken convince ourselves and others to think we know.
Even with no increase in revenue the company has enough money to last at least another 12 months without any fundraising. In those 12 months several new tests will be brought to market, hopefully the Taiwan and other big orders completed, the worse Covid wave in history is about to start and the ABDX website is selling covid tests right up there with the cheapest prices on the web. Personally I think its more likely than unlikely that revenue will be higher in the coming year than it was last year but for God sake (JB particularly) do not take investment advise from me. If you don’t see it get out, if you do, stop panicking!

People need to remember ABDX has £7,600,000 cash in the bank. This amounts to around 6.5p per share.
It's possible of course but it very unusual for companies to have share value worth less than the cash they own. For this reason I would say its highly unlikely we will see 4p or below. You could buy the company for free and almost double your money strait away.

Spent something like £26,000,000 of investors money and currently giving them back a £8,300,000 company that is not (yet) making any profit... There are much,much bigger investors than you and I out there and they much be as unimpressed as we all are.
Jury is out and turnaround time needs to start to be seen or its time to get some new blood in I feel.

No nailed-on guarantee but my gut tells me at some point over the autumn / winter there will be a Covid teat supply issue and mad scramble of people trying to get hold of what they can.
Logically this will most likely come just before Christmas with covid cases high and people wanting to meet up with elderly or venerable friends and relatives. A variant that is as, or more transmissible and more severe would massively kick off test demand instantly.
The question still remains if ABDX would be ready to pounce if and when this happens? I certainly hope they are using this time getting as many ‘Simply Abingdon’ covid tests on their books as they can, distribution channels in place so if someone says I will take 10 million they can fill those orders with ease and quickly. There could be big business over winter and being they haven’t been overly busy lately! they best be prepared for it or it’s another unforgivable own goal.

Just a bad day on the markets all round. Don’t worry, they will announce the Taiwan EUA tomorrow :)

Well we need to remember it was not ABDX that was taken to court, it's the Goverments case to lose or win.
It was once a much bigger deal than it is to ABDX now as we all thought ALL of the bill owed by the DHSC relied on it. We now know its 'just' £1.5 million. Not to be sniffed at of course but also not a make or brake decision.

Yeah, I know we are all starting to dig deep into our reserves now but I’m keeping the faith this can all turn around and quickly.
The Mcap is practically the same as the cash the company has in the bank. Why? Because the market thinks ABDX will blow that money before getting enough revenue to be profitable.
They are only one deal away from blowing that, (what we all hope is a misconception) out of the water.
Taiwan deal could come good any day and will probably bring in close to the FY22 revenues on its own. Also remembering how this deal came from nowhere and the Covid season is about to start, it could be one of several heading ABDX way.
A few deals over the line and not only does the value of those deals get added to the Mcap but something much more valuable as well….Market confidence in the company! This will be when it really motors up as future earnings will start being priced in as well.

I still keep this vague blind hope that lots would have been planned out and agreed behind closed doors and we will just not know what that is unless its needed. However, I also have the sinking feeling that as a nation we just sleepwalking into the next disaster.
We know Covid is getting more contagious, yes severity has remained low with Omicron dominant but most scientist now just see this as nothing more than luck.
The other reason Omicron is mild is because of our high immunity levels, yet we also know these are fading fast.
We also know the NHS has a massive backlog, the new BA.5 and BA2.75 can evade immunity so well people are catching Covid again just a month after last getting it. You can’t ask Doctors and Nurses to come to work knowing they have Covid meaning they will have masses of people off absent all throughout autumn / winter so that backlog is only going to get worse.
We know all business will suffer from mass absenteeism, Planes, trains cancelled, classrooms closed all supply chains delayed.
People unable to heat their homes means people will be more likely to share warm places together, as said before world cup + the usual winter events. More people will get covid this winter than ever! before and a large percent of us will most likely get it multiple times. This with lower immunity levels meaning more likely to have more seriously ill.
Talk about the winter of discontent! Its coming, surly someone in government is planning out ways to help minimise the impact?? Sadly, maybe not as in politics Covid is something they know people don’t really want to hear about so lets put all our focus and attention on the in fashion topics of concern.
As I say, for me sleepwalking into a massive covid **** show and then we will get “how were we to know” dumfounded panicked make it up as you go along responses… very frustrating!

I just had a chat about covid jabs with a few colleagues at work, the majority of which are over 50 years old. It surprised me that only 1 out of 6 said they have had a 4th booster shot. The other 5 said they aren’t in any rush and may or may not bother going for one at all.
I’m wondering if this is a common throughout the country, or just a 50+ Engineer thing?
It is clear the general gusto and passion to “do the right thing” and get your covid jabs has gone. The government and health care systems are going to need to work harder than ever to get the 80/90% uptakes they have managed before. A low uptake will mean advantage covid with more new mutations more likely so I expect something will need to be done about it.
Will we see a big government TV advertising campaign, or maybe it could be the time AbC-19 has its day? People are much more likely to come forward if they know their antibody levels are low.
Autumn starts in 5 weeks. The winter world cup, Halloween parties, Christmas, New year, all with ever more contagious covid variants consistently coming guarantees very high covid cases. If the countries antibody levels are not where they need to be it means massively over loaded hospitals once again.
Slightly more dangerous covid mutation and/or a bad flu year, something new/else and its NHS collapse time.
Have any lessons truly been learnt over the past two years, are plans really there to deal with worse case scenarios? Unfortunately I fear not! I guess we will all find out if so over the next few months.

I get your point (I think) that there is a lot more to the LFT business than Covid tests and ABDX need to get as many of these 'other' tests out there (as they are/trying to do)which all have the potential to make as much, or more than the Covid tests do.

However, if you are a LFT manufacturer/ developer, why would you not also get yourself well and truly in the covid space as well?
Yes the mega bucks, goverment £100's millions orders have probably gone for good but there are still millions of covid tests being done every day. Granted not as big as it was but its still a massive market.
People's free goverment stockpiles will be running out. Maybe just for the well off (but the UK and world has millions of people in that category) curiosity will get to people so when feeling unwell, "is it covid?" Few quid to find out....yeah I want to know, especially if my elderly Mum, Gran is coming over for Christmas etc.
Many £££ to be made still with Covid tests so absolutely IMO ABDX need to stay in that space and get their own test on the market.

We still have the big hope of Vatic coming good but God knows what is going in there.
They could get EUA tomorrow and a big US pharmacy saying we will take all you can make.
Some big asks there but perfectly possible still.....if that was to happen the SP would go into the 50-60p range and quickly IMO.
Let's just keep those fingers and toes crossed. It's been in the EUA process for 5 and a half months now, so if it was to happen it could be very soon.
