Yes Larry, Simonsw00d has the typical Labour/union attitude. Sir Phil doesn't actually need to work. He is a multi millionaire from his previous role. Sir Phil is with BT because he thrives on challenge. And you don't get any bigger challenge than running a company as large and dysfunctional as BT has been in the past - mostly due to previous governments rubbing their nose in the dirt. I see that Fleccy and NigeCo are getting all smoochy again. Might I ask you a question Fleccy? Please don't think I'm being horrid again. I have grown to quite admire you of late, apart from your Laurel and Hardy double act with NigeCo and your penchant for cutting and pasting. But judging by the fact that you worked in telecoms for 30 years and are now contemplating waiting until the 2030s for a decent return on your BT investment, exactly how long do you plan on living? No offence meant. LoL

Agreed Larry. But you can't work with people who think they're worth more than their value to the company, any company. The bad old days are over. Workers, certainly in BT, are not exploited. And yet, as the company rises from the destructive policies of May and White, the CWU seems determined to knock it down again. They still have a them and us make the pips squeak, mentality. Shame about that.

You certainly don't know what senior management are thinking. Nor do I. But think they're thinking they've done enough to prevent a walkout. We might have news that turns everything upside down the day before the postal ballot goes out. Think of it as perfect timing :)

Very reasonable question Grs24. The BT workforce is certainly not the lowest paid in the UK. Their rates are above average, as are their pension entitlements and other benefits. The youngsters will be more than happy with their £1500 they're getting. The old guard will be more concerned about the rise in the cost of living, their families and their own BT pensions. The vast majority of BT staff will not want to be out of pocket in these uncertain times. Why would any of them wish to bring the company to its knees? It simply doesn't make sense. Over the last few months, I've been casually questioning Openreach engineering staff all over London, as they beaver away replacing copper with fibre. Very few of the guys I spoke to appeared to be keen on taking strike action. There were a handful of moaners, obviously - the rough and ready, loud mouthed type; diehard Lefties who, like the unions, are an anachronism in modern times.

Poor, deluded boy. Despite the class action and the threatened strike (which won't take place), BT shares will be more than double today's price by Christmas 2022. Maybe not a fiver, but getting there. To even suggest that BT will be bankrupt is pure bunkum. This kind of talk is reserved for union activists and third columnists. I prefer to call them Corbynistas. It is clear that the unions are stepping up for national action, what with the RMT and all. They only patronise and protect lazy dollards, instead of co-operating with bosses in everyone's interests, including the nation. And so say all of us!

I reckon BT will be £5 by Xmas. The only thing worth throwing at you Red Pete is excrement. Problem is, you'd probably wallow in it. Seem to remember the Labour party being investigated for racism; actually fascism.

As the days draw longer, so the BT share price rises inexorably upwards. These are the facts of life, my little tiddlywinks. Mr. Drahi and Deutsche Telecom will join together and force a partial sale of Openreach. My great friend Sir Philip will agree to this, because it makes absolute sense. It allows BT to march forward even faster, gives loyal followers like me a decent and imminent return on their dosh and leaves the competition scratching their gonads - a bit like the Labour party that Red Pete fawns over. LOL

Oh, and I almost forgot, the massive reduction in pension scheme liabilities!

BT's progress from homeless deadbeat to Upwardly Mobile (good slogan for EE that, methinks) is now Unstoppable. Most of you old fogeys on here, especially Freaky and his team of nodding cut and past donkeys, won't know that song by Sia. But it is relevant, I assure you. BT now has all its ducks in a line - ridding itself of BT Sport with a modest payback, full integration with EE coming soon, way ahead of the networking competition, who are scrabbling around for funding and partnerships. Customer service on the mend. Services like unbreakable wifi, partnerships with technology behemoths like Google, focus on security for businesses and individuals. Quantum computing. Monetising part of Openreach, to further speed up full fibre rollout. The list is endless. All headed up by a wizard of a CEO - Philip Jansen; soon, no doubt, to be Sir Philip. I rest my case.

Yes Ally, Nige & Co is one of Fleecy's desperados, or even maybe Fleecy himself. They're all singing from the same hymn sheet. That said, the monetising of Openreach will come to fruition sooner rather than later, thanks to Mr. Drahi. For any union members who don't understand long words, please apply to yours truly for explanations. Handy Mandy is ready to service you. LOL

Reckon the share price fall is due to the fact that BT will post better than predicted results next week. Don't believe the MMs, who want you to sell up while they buy up. Either way, Drahi will speak his intentions in June or thereabouts. And we'll all get a final divi later in the year regardless. Don't fall at the last post guys. Don't let them play with the mind. A little paranoia gives you the edge. Too much drives you over it! Stay focused. We will win.
