Blue, you talk strangely for someone who says they have their own business. You appear to think the same as your union buddies. See the push is now to get rid of the management - a management that is still constrained by the Regulator. It won't happen, as much as you would like it. Big changes coming soon, for the better. Unions are having their last shout. Won't be posting here again. Good luck all.
Tony, it's not the management or even the unions. The Theresa May's government was dead against BT from the start. They wanted telecoms to be a free-for-all and used Ofcom as a tool to make sure it was. I've been contemplating selling up like you; painful though that will be. However, I've come down on the side of sticking with it. I think this is going to turn out like the power industry. Most Altnets have overstretched themselves, with no chance of getting a return on their investments. Openreach will pick up the pieces.
And how, my dear Smash, is that relevant to what I said in my post! That's the trouble with you union bods. You simply refused to listen to reason and just go off at a tangent.
No offence Blue, but you obviously had yours blown off years ago!
Wonder why BT settled with the CWU? They didn't have to. That's for sure. Makes me think that bodies are wriggling under the covers (we like to talk in those terms here at mandylikesbigboys.com). Makes me think that Drahi and DT are getting ready to do a deep throat job on Openreach, if not on BT in its entirety. As pointed out by Alex Brummer, we need to adopt new positions in telcomms, the postal service, railways; everywhere that unions like the CWU are hanging onto stone-age working practices and agreements that are effectively strangling industries and the people who work within them. How short-sighted they are. Shame.
Had a post on LinkedIn removed because I dared to mention that men used to be the hunters and that women took care of everything else (except fleccy, of course, as the fibres he has emanating every orifice get in the way). We must stamp on the Woke generation. Women are becoming more like men, and men are becoming more like women. Which is why I welcome the CWU thugs to our team. One other thing. No need to worry about climate change. The de-population time bomb will take care of that. Nature has a way of preserving itself.
NDN, you pipsqueak!
Deffo £5 by Christmas 2023, you saddos :)
Come on Larry. That's what fleccy does. Bet he works full time in the BT News Room. And I reckon there's a whole team of him, all with the same predictably dull writing style. Merry Christmas all :)
Phatz fool. Go easy on the 'we'. It's 'you' and 'us'. Typical union trick of trying to divide and conquer. A lot of your lot will be conquered (i.e. made redundant) when fibre rollout is over, if not before. Merry Christmas
P.S. Gertrude. I signed off with Shalom, not Shabbat Shalom! Nit picker
BT is the only board in the world where the women make more sense than the men! Sorry chaps, off to lunch at Hawksmoor now. Will update you saddos tomorrow, after a fine steak and a good bottle of red, shared with my new love Xi. GLA HoHoHo
Agreed Abject. I should have gone to Specsavers
Gertrude, you pleb. When in Rome, do as the Romans do. To most people on here who follow that particular Lord, Sunday is their day. Afraid, I am not a woke person. I cannot address all faiths and all sexualities in a single post. Please try and be patient with me. More to the point, please stop being such an annoying little git. Thank you for listening.
Dear Phats, on this board we have many genteel folk, like Bling and Blue. They at least have a modicum of charm and humour. You have none, unfortunately. It's probably impossible, but try to shed your working class attitudes, including that nagging chip on your shoulder. Must say, though, that I very enjoy pie and mash (two pies, one mash and plenty of liquor for £7.80) and Wetherspoons (pint of Guinness, ham, chips and two eggs for £5.25). However, I always attempt to sit as far away as possible from the other clientele, as they tend to burp, pass wind, swear and steal my chips. Funny lot the working classes. Never mind, it's Sunday, the Lord's day. I'll forgive them, but it's difficult to forgive a nasty piece of work like you. Shalom.
Thanks Larry. Funny you should say that. When I joined The Blues, the RSM ordered me to take a bite from a steaming horse dung sandwich. I can report that it's far easier to remove the remnants of straw from between your teeth than pubic hair x
Funny you should say that Blue, had a couple too many the other day, fell over and sprained my ankle. Luckily, an attractive lady helped me up. I invited her for a coffee at a nearby Costa, to thank her (and to sober myself up, and we just clicked. Her name is Xi Luan. I invited Xi to my expensive town house in central London, where she attended to my wounds and I attended to her needs; albeit with great pain. Thank you for caring x
I'm beginning to warm to the Welsh expat. Have a good weekend :)
Good to see you showing your true colours, again, Phatz. Expat, stop feeding the creep!
So right Toff. So very right. His arguments are plausible but certainly not believable. Shame. RIP fleccy, metaphorically speaking. I wish him no ill health. Just wish and hope he'd keep his trap shut (especially about the re-investment opportunities), until the shares are on the rise. Some people on here are really hurting. And his constant ramping is becoming infuriating.
