Smasher, even your handle sounds intimidating. But don't worry, I'm here to give your a metaphorical hand and hopefully adjust your muddled thinking. We are no longer living in the Sixties or Seventies, when unions were all powerful. Times have changed. Of course I want to make money from BT, as do tens of thousands of other small investors, including BT team members. It is not a crime to make money from investing. The whole world is doing it. If your union was progressive, it would be working with employers like BT to retrain frontline and back office team members who will undoubtedly become redundant over the next few years. Instead, like the newspaper unions, you pick a fight. Your pathetic strike is destined to fizzle out like a cheap sparkler. And another thing, the workforce is only responsible for a part of the success of a well run company. You are the hands, not the brains. Leadership, innovation, intellect and security are also key, as is the attitude of team members. People like you can only shout foul from the sidelines, in the same way as Sir Keir Starmer - the Labour Party's lacklustre leaders. Your union bosses are not leaders. They are bald-headed thugs and dinosaurs. They will drag you down with them. Open you eyes Smasher. Work with BT and not against them. Or you and the other moaners could find yourselves other jobs. On second thoughts, best stay with BT. With your attitude, no one else will employ you. Toodle Pip!
