Boris did another reassuring conference call today at 5pm. You can watch in on FB, just search for Boris's page. Here's my summary of leading stats. It's 100% clear that lockdown was needed immediately. It's also 100% clear that the Government are working flat out to get the vaccinations of the most vulnerable and frontline staff done by mid Feb, which is the reassuring part. As he says, we all need to follow the rules and stop spreading it, while the vaccine teams get on with protecting the vulnerable.

As per my other post, the first race now being on 26 Feb in Saudi, AFC PR should be kicking off real soon, and if the AFC Fuel Cell hasn't been delivered yet (due to Formula E having a March start date until today) but is finished and ready to go, then it should be leaving the building imminently! An opportunity for an AFC tweet.

2021 Formula E season to begin with Saudi Arabia night races

Formula E has announced that its Saudi Arabia night races will go ahead as planned in late February and will move to become the opening round of the 2021 season.

FE has now issued a very brief tweet on social media confirming that the Saudi Arabia event will maintain its 26-27 February date.

Look closely at the 'Algorithmic trades'.

I have noticed that many of the small trades are done at lower or higher prices then the current, and the BID / ASK then follows them, for example:

BID 75.7 ASK 76.5
TIME 16:27:35
Next trade 2 shares at 76.8
BID stays at 76.5 but Ask changes immediately to 76.8

This looks like a signal to me to move the Ask 2 (to) the price of the small trade. And it happens all day every day. There are other numbers that change the price and it's always a small trade of 11 shares or less.

I think these are signals to trigger limit buys or stop losses in the MM's queue.

It makes no sense to do thousands of tiny trades every day at these prices.

I can only suggest that so many small trades are done just to cover up what the few are actually doing.

And look where we closed the day, surprised???????

The 875,000 at 70.066p showing as traded at 10:39:16 I'd say is a filled order. £613k worth.

The reasons I say it's a filled order?

At the time the Bid was 73.8p and the Ask was 74.4. The deal price was nowhere near, which would be typical of a filled order, as the price for the block is the AVERAGE price of all the small chunks added into it, thus a very random 70.066p.

It had no effect on the SP (if it was a huge sell I'd expect the MM dealing it to drop the price immediately), in fact within five minutes the price had risen to 74.4p / 74.6p.

There are two possibilities here:

1) there was indeed an 11m trade, but some fool published it too soon, as it should have been published after the close, so they quickly reversed it and it got erased from the trades list. If so, it will appear at some point over the next few days, after the close (look around 5:30pm)

2) It was a genuine error. In this case it would have been revered and thus removed from the list.

Have to wait and see. Keep checking the trades list, as last night a trade actually turned up at 18:20!!

MM's definitely taking advantage of the lockdown to pull a few stocks back that had gone a long way last year, an easy opportunity to reload their books and fill ii orders before the next leg up.

Lockdown no big deal for AFC. Some will work from home, some socially distanced at the office and lab, some in suitable PPE at the factory.

Something else we have to remember is that news is not dependent on Iain.

If AB signs one of his mooted 'strategic' agreements today, it can still be an RNS tomorrow, and it doesn't have to touch Iain on the way.

Yes, very positive.

The short term traders get shaken out, long term ii holders come in.

Going forward this reduces volatility and creates a new floor under the current share price.

Will less stock changing hands on news, when news does arrive the rises are better and less chance of a spike.

Just sit it out and wait for the games to finish, then look forward to the next leg up.

First couple of days I doubt h'd put anything out here. First of all he has to go through the AFC induction process, then he has to be filled in on the details of all the technology, projects, sales, pipeline, agreements, etc, and which are under NDA that he can't quote directly but can hint at (just like AB does).

Maybe something Friday, depends how much info he needs to absorb before he can get moving.

I've been saying for days that the MM's are filling ii / HNW / Fund Manager big orders, mostly fell on deaf ears, plus a few trying to pooh-pooh the suggestion, or are they paid by someone to come here and do that I wonder?

PHE, CWR, ITM and PPS have not had the same recovery today that AFC has £500m MCap is the reason IMVHO.

I still say £500m is the key!

Especially considering we were held just above it yesterday, and are now back above it today after a drop of over 10%, and despite 500k more sold volume today!

As I said before, the MM's and ii's want it here.

Right now it's a very fickle market due to the uncertainty of covid globally. The clever investors will follow WB and be greedy when others are fearful.

The UK lockdown is 6-8 weeks. In that time the top 4 groups will be vaccinated, ICU will be relieved of pressure, instead of having loads of ICU staff more NHS staff can be used for vaccinations, so the UK will get on top of it very quickly. Thus this 6-8 week blip is just a buying opportunity.

From an AFC perspective, we are looking at news on the new factory, Acciona, Extreme E, the 400kW system, results in Feb with loads of details on all areas of the business, potentially more OEM deals soon (don't be at all surprised if we get one or two before the results!), so I see the situation for AFC as a definite buying opportunity.
