Why would they let facts get in the way of bashing AFC?

Nice chart posted by Skinny on advfn showing the price just closed above the 50 SMA. A good sign of reversal from the long downtrend. The 200 SMA should be seen as the next target, and it is right up at 38.42p. Also on his chart, the RSI and MACD are not approaching overbought yet, suggesting this rise is not done yet. Time for the technical traders to join the party I'd say.

I wouldn't worry about that, as the conclusion to that question is so far off that we should all be rich by the time it is decided.

AFC is a listed company, it has huge investment behind it. It's not a British industry that's struggling to keep its head above water and then gets bought out dirt cheap by a huge foreign company. Neither does it need any Government funding to keep it alive. No, AFC can stand on its own two feet and be a leader in Hydrogen Fuel Cell systems.

Of foreign.oney wants AFC in a few years time, it is welcome to take my shares at £10 each.

I've not looked into how much it costs for an in house dedicated chip manufacturing station, if they even exist, but I'd have thought a lot of money, and obviously the clean room to go around it. Maybe something for the time when AFC are building GW's of systems though, just to cut out the risk to production.

Also of interest on this subject is that in April AFC imported "Machines and apparatus for the manufacture of semiconductor devices or of electronic integrated circuits".

Can they make their own chips now? Or did they change chip selection to one's easily available so needed to manufacture a new circuit board?

The chip shortage has been going on since a big factory fire and covid lockdowns began in China.

The chip shortage affects many things with chips in, mainly cars, computer and internet equipment, TV's, washing machines, dishwashers, and loads of smaller smart devices and goods like phones, tablets, cameras, Fitbit, etc.

AFC are unlikely to use the same chips as those, more likely it's low volume specialist chips used in industrial electronic control systems, for example the operations that happen from the screen in the container such as Nitrogen purge, Hydrogen release, etc, plus taking in the data from the sensors and converting it into useable visual data. I doubt AFC is impacted anything like the other things on the list, as the chips they use will come from smaller manufacturers that haven't got such big backlogs.

Maybe that's how DW's bog cleaning chemicals are sold, just beaker in a lab somewhere throws together some toxic carcinogenic polluting chemicals, says "yeah boss, it sure cleans the s h I t off!" and then they package and sell it!!

AFC have been busy little bunnies. Check out their latest import info for April and May.

Importing Graphite electrodes sounds interesting (no mention of PGM or any rare Earth metals, which would have had to be declared if any were in them).

With so many staff and loads of space available, I'd hope that AFC assembled several Power Tower systems in parallel.

The Acciona system was checked by Acciona at the AFC factory to accept it being delivered. So if building in parallel, that would mean the systems ordered by other clients might only need those clients to visit AFC to check their system and sign to accept it being delivered.

Timing would then be down to availability of the clients' staff, and fitting into AFC's calendar so they don't turn up at the same time.

We are not losing any advantage. They can reform Methanol, but they have to then use expensive gas clean-up to put it safely into PowerCell PEM Fuel Cells, we do not need the expensive gas clean-up so we keep our cost advantage.

I'm not afraid of competition but as I said, it doesn't really matter because AFC can't take 100% of the Global market and neither can the others, the gap between supply and demand is huge and fast growing, and every company will be able to sell multiples of its max production without having any effect on the other companies sales.

I see the advertised prices were moved up for a second so that the 50000 buy trade at 23.94p showed as a sell, along with the 12904 at 23.9p and 2096 at 23.9p. They must think everyone is daft not to see these games being played with the price.

Interesting that the USA price is now 25.63p, interesting if you know what Arbitration is!

Every fully commercial Fuel Cell and Electrolyzer company out there has a big backlog of orders to fill, they simply cannot make them fast enough, and with the huge global Hydrogen push their backlogs are just going to increase.

Look at the financial results of ITM, CWR, PLUG, FCEL, BLDP, BE, NEL and PCEL for starters, and you'll see those huge backlogs.

Once AFC get the orders flowing in, it has a big capacity to fill at the existing factory, but once it's maxed out then AFC will join the aforementioned with its own backlog.

None of these companies will stop each other from having a huge backlog for many years. There is so much demand out there and it's growing fast, that competition is irrelevant if you can't accept every single order in the whole world and fill it within a reasonable amount of time.

If one of these so called competitors took on every possible order worldwide, it would have a backlog of 500 years LOL!!

Not competition because they can't offer systems that use cheap low grade Hydrogen, Ammonia or Methanol.

To call them competition is like saying a Porsche Taycan EV is competition with a Fiat 500 EV. Yes they are both cars, but they don't really compete for buyers.

In any case, all these posts about 'competition' are garbage pointless negative spin, because the markets they share are several multi billion pounds worth, and every company could produce it's maximum output every year yet not effect each other in any way, they could x100 their production and still not affect each other, as they could all sell all of that production, so 'competition' for sales makes zero difference to the outcome, and I'm sure those posting these 'competition' posts know that, especially DW who does it constantly.

You know full well they can't compete with AFC's low grade Hydrogen cost, let alone AFC's ability to use cheap Ammonia or Methanol, so why even bother posting these when you already know they are not competition for AFC, they will lose to AFC on CAPEX and OPEX.
