RE: MARITIME TRANSPORT EFFICIENCY CONFERENCE (today and tomorrow)26 Sep 2022 19:46
Meanwhile, back in the real world, this is what is going on today, with QFI right in the mix of it alongside MSC:
Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC) has renewed its support as the title sponsor of the third edition of the Conference on Shipping Efficiency (MTE) that will take place in Geneva, Switzerland, from September 26 to 27, 2022.
“The two-day event is an occasion for like-minded colleagues from the shipping industry to discuss opportunities and challenges for the sector's transition to a low-carbon economy; from shipowners, carriers, charterers and industry associations, to policymakers and technology developers. Conference participants will address innovative solutions to facilitate the energy transition, drawing attention to the future of fuels and the regulatory environment.
“At MSC, our goal is clear and we are accelerating our path to reach net-zero emissions by 2050. Participants will be able to learn more about MSC by attending our presentations, which will highlight how we are reducing our emissions through improving our operational efficiency, using temporary low-carbon fuels and exploring and testing alternative technologies and fuels”, added the private company.
"We recognize the role of shipping in climate change and, as a responsible family business investing in sustainable global trade, we will continue to drive action in this area," said Soren Toft , CEO of MSC.
MSC speakers at the event will include Claudio Abbate, Vice President Maritime Policy and Government Affairs, MSC Group and Prabhat Jha, CEO, MSC Shipmanagement Cyprus. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet the MSC delegation, including representatives covering public policy, energy efficiency, bunker procurement and sustainability at an exhibition stand.
