The useless execs should become ad salesmen/ saleswomen and get out there fighting to get more ad spending on their multiple platforms. Revenue must increase YOY by at least 15%.
Looking at the balance sheet, ITV is not so confident of their own value. I am really shocked about the lack of public lobbying for adverts. They haven’t used the negative sentiment against social media to win more adverts......it is a joke! ITV must become a true european media business and learn from Netflix. ITV should be competing for ad revenue in the whole europe not just tiny U.K.
Gavin P thought renaming crap service would save his job........”BT Plus”! Premium my arse, useless service that could be improved first then any increase in price would be understandable. Jansen is not from monopoly background, has no monopolistic brain so he would do the right thing......grow revenue and offer different products. Sell OR now so BT can become a tech / telecoms company.........FB revenue is more than double our revenue. We have so much data that we make money from advertising.
The next divi would attract new buyers looking to get in / out quick. I hope the MMs can be sensible and Jack up the prices, VOD shares around 180p - 200p would be easy to sell to retail buyers any day.
Most utilities buy gas and electricity at forward wholesale prices. If CNA bought at lower prices 3 - 4 months ago then they would hit their normal profit margin target. Increased use may only increase profit if the company has a lot of supplies. It’s like buying a tanker of petrol when it dropped to 99p in 2015 / 2016...........you would make loads of money selling it to your mates when it hit 130p last year.......30% profit.
I’m with IG and they will improve their portfolio reporting / statements as they are transitioning from pure spreadbets / CFD to shares. They make more money robbing leverage punters than die hard retail shareholders.
It is technically their shares until we have digital shares and digital share wallets / accounts. The greedy city dinosaurs are pushing back against cheaper ownership of companies by retail investors. Does anybody here buy real shares in their own name? How much does that take out of projected profit?
RE: FB’s quarterly profit > ITV Mcap!31 Jan 2019 18:19
ITV hub must have enough personal data to sell to FB. They need to reduce old school shows.........make shows for the much hyped millennials then get FB to sponsor it in return for personal data.
We need a change of direction at Ofgem and CMA, nobody wants to do M&A in Europe. European countries are so proud but don’t see that their economy is weaker than some states in U.S.A. None of the new small energy firms will survive except those with serious backing from rich owners not worried about profit. CNA hit 220p just after brexit vote.......it can go above 200p quickly if we get a new sensible PM, new chiefs at Ofgem and CMA. The EU elections this year will be great for M&A in EU as the devilish far left EU commissioner that is tormenting M&A is going.
Ofgem, CMA and the government have put negative sentiment on this sector, a deep freeze of -20 degrees won’t help. Utilities are being demonised even though their profit margin is quite low........ok costs can be cut but most listed company directors are useless.
