VOD will get €2b cash from tower co plus 37.5% stake which would be sold down after IPO if no recession after May 2020.

Tower co cash and New Zealand disposal cash won’t reduce the debt that much. I still don’t know why companies rush into emerging companies like India only to lose huge money then retreat back to Europe that they keep ****ging off. I call that corporate Ponzi as they could have improved customer service / offers in Europe and make more money in euros and pounds instead of EM currencies.

The dame just can’t gloss over things these days. We need some bullish signal to move the SP.

With clever accounting, NR would make sure the net debt is well below €40b. Anything above €40 billion in net debt might scare the market. Regulators must allow telecos to raise prices but only to reduce debt chunk only (not for buybacks, dividends or bonuses).

.......and listed on AIM, it could rally like crazy for years before crashing back to earth. I need to write to the Dame to see if she’s interested in making money.

What I meant by “out of the way” was they didn’t stumble in raising cash for the deal. In a world with appetite for only negative yielding sovereign bonds, VOD has done well to raise money even though analysts keep saying VOD has too much debt well before the liberty deal. VOD’s debt profile looks ok but regulators are the main problem for telecoms sector. If VOD and others can raise prices faster the sector would rally 50% and leverage level would be a lot lower.

Guys just ignore the noise, and set yourself a 1 year target. 5G costs and Liberty debt are out of the way so we need to look forward to euro 2020, monetisation of Tower assets and cost cutting synergies from liberty assets.
Everything else is just noise, forget politics........people are hooked on their phones, data usage will keep going up. Buy VOD as it crawls up, don’t sell please as MMs will pull it down to rip off private holders. Remember I said the recent MCBs were priced perfectly for MMs and their friends who now have huge gains already plus a decent coupon rate in a negative yield market.

I don’t think the new CEO is dumb enough to outbid Comcast when it comes to football rights. I think the SP might fall further. OR must be sold to pension funds while retaining a minority stake. BT needs a new growth catalyst (not sport) which must be tech based and capital light.

A bid is tougher if a company is not leveraged, private equity and potential buyers are looking to use their own financial power to cut cost and squeeze out more profit. I don’t know how lower our debt can be refinanced by a bidder? Also the property has been sold so nothing really left to make ITV smarter except from investing more in the normal business.
Bidders always look at those costs that can be reduced and hidden assets / gems that can be sold down. If ITV separates its broadcast unit, bidders will be tempted to buy a non-broadcast exposed business.

Anybody here still think a bid is coming? I don’t think so because the company managed to refinance easily at a great rate............

Bt can’t enter a bidding war with Comcast (sky) so champions league will go along with broadband & TV customers. BT needed to invest in fintech instead of sport / TV.

C4 has better quality shows / movies (film4) than itv. This good news and might save britbox gamble........still don’t like the sound of britbox! Too much emphasis on “brit” when the business should be thinking globally.

IG. Is CFDs, just great as day trading........short it when the market is not moving together like when brexit deal was announced. Check my past post when it was near 50p. Even if you are a buyer, you can still short a little bit. The dodgy ceo and the gang are out to wipe you out.

Intu is a Ponzi, are you stuck? Short it all the way to zero. The bondholders and banks own the real assets while private shareholders owe the debt......haha

Nice to see the market call this higher today instead of discounting positive news, we need to crack 170p then zoom quickly past 200p before taking a pause.

I hope you have spent some time to check out all intu’s debt structure and rates. Too high, not sustainable but that is public info......HMSO pulled out once they saw dodgy things under the bonnet. Peel and Whittaker’s offer was just a way to see if HMSO or any other bidders would counter......that didn’t happen so it plunged and the board was forced to admit that things are worse.
