Many shares, I have a feel .. for, even with limited knowledge of the company. example VOD its almost at its low, 10pc div, its high decades ago 230. I,m very happy to hold these. Example, uranium etf, prices dropped over last week.. i,m very happy to hold.

But with these aim cos "with a story" aau and ggp ive not the remotest idea what will happen except its likely going to be extreme.

Getting tired of aim now, very hard to pick the winners. oxfod biomedica 46pc up in a day last week. aau with a "story" like here progressively down as here, and with reasons for huge uplift.. like here.

What does ur xtal ball say ? am i optimistic in assessing ggp as 100-300pc likely increase given time

Just supposing aviva rose to £6 plus on takeover speculation, have you a view on putting the now increased capital base into a growth anf income fund, as morgon global growth and div, or merchants trust growth and divi uk blue chips.. yields 4.5 to 5%. It takes the risk of one of a small number of shares away... but how risky is it to hold the stalwarts or aristocrats. It would be simpler to hold say 3 funds, on other hand it looks (*) so simple to get into single cos,.. aviva lgen rroyce vod etc. Your xtal ball overview?? (If u take merchants trust the price doesn't seem much higher than 5 yrs ago on a graph)

Pleae say where you look up aviva div as almost 8 percent. here its 7.37 at 404, it will be less for those who bought at 425. (I added!) Its annoying not to have exact div info when buy shares.... div pc based on last two payments, and based on forecast next payment, and next xd date and a note on anyting which will materially affect next payment.

Seem it donr it.. u didnt do bad.. U could have bough Vodafone many many years back .. now it yields a whopping 10 percent, nut price then 230 !!! price last week 75.

In years to come when we back to normalized rates leg gen and aviva will look very sensible investments at 7 to 8pc div. If aviva taken out hard to find replacement

Many have problems.. vod for example even though it has even higher div than here. Utilities risky as one word from gov lips crash them. Many many high yielding blue chips lose their appeal when the price drops. If lgen and aviva go I would consider a global growth and div fund... of course abot 4pc divi

Aba.. 424 is good entry point its a stable co with profits known into future and 7pc plus div at this price... thats diregarding the takeover rumours

HAha im unused to takeovers increasing value.. what usually happens with divi, with new co, has one no idea at all, or similar pro rata.

Do u know if cap gains tax comes in on takeover or when you sell the new company shares.

What cos would you move to as hold and forget. I guess lgen will rise in tandem with aviva, anyway too much in that already. diaggio low div. Other div shares more downside than aviva.

Ive also got global growth n income funds, u can get 4.5% on those.

Which share would you buy for your £6.... it Has to be safe with assured earning s into future, good possibility appreciation, and RISING divi. Most above 5% havent got this, and ones like diaggio are 3.5pc div.

If taken over would div amount in pounds remain about the same? How does this work based on past takeovers.

If you have to sell and rebuy a 4pc divi share you will need almost twice todays price.

if taken over does capital gains kick in at that point?

How do you short please? I used ig index a few years back both for short and long u.

The long position I paid much more than the margin so i couldn't be stopped out, the share price dropped (not a problem along the way) i g index then said they wouldn't deal with that share any more and it would be forcibly sold.

what was your reasoning for vod going down? I added over last month and got it wrong, interested how you got it right. Its hard to sell when there is a rising trend! I hope I haven't got uranium wrong as well, been buying last weeks in a rising trend that's now broken!!

Very easy to tell if board are aligned with shareholders.

1, What is salary.

2. How many shares bought with their own money.

If no skin in the game what does it matter a few mistakes.

Amur minerals need to takeover or partner a project within 4 months, money ready....

Muilder.. excellent find, For me Id be unhappy at anything less than twice present price so that proceeds could be put into a 5 percent divi co (vod divi 10 percent presently)

So either vod drops a little n gets taken out, or goes up and we happy .. win win, and while waiting real good divi.

As said before, vod has slid from a high of 230, even at double its present price its way off historic highs.

There was a time couple years ago when ggp cimbed n cimbed, 16p then whhoooosh...up up, . then a very slow decline to todays 6, then last week up, and down again. I never really understood what started a long decline, the stuff in the ground is still there.

May i politely ask why few give reasoned arguments as to the price vod will be. Other company boards discuss free cash flow graphs news .. and the price. Some of the info is highly educational, and interesting, Id love to see this here with the price prediction.

I have none, Its a hold and forget stock for me with at present a near 10percent div (less TAX !!!! d ac) Though I cant predict price, I would like to think 1.....below 70 it would be eyed for foreign takeover split up, 2... descending chart seemed to to turn to ascending 2 months ago .. 3... India worth 20pc more Spain interesting developments. ...4.. all the talk of inflation makes price rises easy .. 5.. less new license cost.

NOTE... decades ago vod share price 230 low 70's recently near 10pc div at todays price.
