Im not invested yet, and need some diversification. And 4 pc divi. However the question is why invest here when there are shares that are .. almost.. certain to rise constantly example rolls royce albeit little div as they know where to spend the cash internally.

The latest price peak is higher than previous,, a good sign, but i can see this has happened before! followed by a bigger drop

Mh a special divi can be structured by the compamy as either capital gain or incme or a choice. It has to be set up correctly though, and preferably rnsd as so.

Of course a standard divi is income

in my case could set it against capital loss so no tax on special divi sructured as a capital gain, im suggesting that IF oc results in a special divi it would be great to have the choice of taking it as capital gain OR interest. Before the last 2 years in r royce glaxo vod aviva ggp hoc etc I had some failures.. neil woodfords safe fund, gold mine polymetal in russia etc. Its a learning process, I value a board in tune with shareholders, little debt, pervious track record, operating in a rising sector now, I see all this in ggp.

Blackrock gold and gen fund gives diversification and divi. Into the future I see nickle as iffy due new battery chemistry, and gold silver copper uranium worth looking at. Diversification is important so ive some glaxo vod aviva lgen which all throw off divis, and recently sold a tranch of vod to add here in my opinion this has way more upside at presemt.

As an aside I learn sooo much about mining which id never otherwise bee interested in (thankyou) from knowledgable posters here, and love this board where u can be off topic or mention another company without being shot down!!!! Dip, I would be interested in your overview of what you posted.... From my point of view last 2 years ggp consistently moved higher to nearly £8 with good news and much to look forward to in next 20 years, theen the war, gold should have rocketed it didnt, ggp droppeed to £6 vod dropped 118 to 113, now vod 118.5 (and 4pc div) and ggp not recovered. Yet we have even more good news with tungstion. Actually I sold some vod to add to ggp and hoc......

I look foward to ggp being a divi and buyback co however can see monies spent within the co are at present better used.

Now.. ive aked here many times what is the different investment case for ggp and hoc.. to be clear my preference has been ggp ive got way more than hoc, however they are in the same business just different countries, so im curious why the prices behave so diffently, if hoc was able to make 5pc today on interest rates held why ggp only half a percent. IN MY VIEW ggp has more to come than hoc. The other surprise was rolls royce 7.5pc up, Its got smrs coming, but wow flying is going to be disrupted a whole. Recently I sold much of vod to add here.. vod up 2 pc today and a 5pc div. Hope ggp will play catch

imo you are right, reasonable divi rising with track record shares are what to look for...

However performance of partiicularly, good gold miners, (ggp 125pc 12 months) seem to beet them.

The popular ones seem to be aviva phenix inilever diaggio

and most popular bat l and g .. i cant agree...

Is a special divi from "oc" a possibility what is oc please.

If so, (apart from isa pep) a standard divi is taxed at your highest rate.

However if it is structured right by the company, and CONFIRMED IN RNS, ....a special divi can be taken as either capital gain .....(and taxed at capital gain rate or set against losses)

If this is a realistic possibility and others would like this, what is best way to bring it to attention of board.

If a special divi is paid that means the co cant find a good use for the money within the company.. imo unlikely.

Ultamately id favour a regular divi with rising policy, this would help the share price.

What do you mean your latest investments in ggp are totally different to a year ago. Do you mean the days of 100pc gains a year are gone, and you can expect 10 to 20pc a year stable??????? Thats not what happened last 3 weeks, 50 percent from 500 to 770. If another world event takes ggp to 500 again ill sell vod and buy ggp.

Going to moon.... For me price increases wheat corn not the issue, I can shop late friday morrison steak £3.20 etc, drive carefully and use less fuel. The stupidly huge outgoings are gov ones, council tax £3500 (terraced 3 bedroom london, elec etc.

When i start to move ££s away from ggp to shares there will be choice, fund like city of london history of increasing div each year, mix of l and g aviva glaxo vod etc, or capital gain shares as rolls royyce, guilt ladder, or long guilts for divi. The last seems worst as u can get 5pc divi from a mix of shares and over time hopefully capital appreciation. If ggp starts a div it will be even more difficult to sell.!! Some way off tho.

I was very very surprised over the last week that vod held 108 110, while ggp fell, My guess imo is that ggp will recover strongly at some point and vod will struggle to clear 118. Lets see.....
