It does seem reasonable div shares funds dont perform as well as others. shame, would be nice to end up in drawdown taking divi and getting appreciation. that was what vod sposed to do.

ZAC please more detail particularly on funds. I need to end up with drawdown pension sip throwing off enough div to ue, whilst growing at slightly more than rate odf inflation !. otherwise may as well get an annuity.

glaxo huge dissapointment, now want to go into more funds with reasonable rising divi and enough price appreciation to counter inflation. So curious on how you are doing this. As said holding huge british cos like glaxo vod doesnt seem to be the way.

No, I am many year holder, watched and researched, but very confused now as to exactly what has gone on , in the 20 to 7p period and the extent that the "new 2024ggp" could in theory rise.

My average is double this price, I wont sell it, jus leave in bottom drawer.

Unimag may we know which were these shares please, are you watching others. I am in oxford bio who have a 99pc accurate addon to psa test, and aau gold.

Would one of the knowledgeable posters precis simply what has happened to ggp since it hit 20, (now 7) for those that bought at that price it would be nice to understand if with the present setup there is some possibility of exceeding 20p in the future.

Dividend has been halved in future, 11pc before so in future will it be 5.5% ish based on 65 share price.

IF the share price rose lets say to 130, have vod given guidance if div could be raised substantially?

Otherwise the div would be less than 3%

Is it worth looking at advfn instead of here? some of the boards here aren't so good now, vod is flooded with a competition for guesses on share price with no research.

Many times a rise exceeds previous peaks as now it goes on up, however I can see this many times before with aau then it goes down. This rise looks much steeper.

No on knows but my opinion upside her limited and as u say might not even break out. This and unilever have the "moat" of uncopiable products people wont change from. Im not so sure. Caspian still risky but much bigger upside

So you have a company that never made any money, buy shares over a long period whose average value is 12p, when they are around 3p part of the company sold and money returned as a special dividend, isn't that capital returned? When the shares are sold lets say for 1 or 2 p then the part of the company sold is part of the capital LOSS, how could tax be due on a capital loss.

My dividend stream dealing account exceeds the div allowance. After covid and the war self empincome is now only 15k, the tax on the LOSS would be more than I earn.
