How will YOU decide annuity.. (150k gives about 8k year .. (5.3%) ) or drawdown . if you hold likes of aviva lgen glaxo vod etc about 7pc hopefully rising to cover inflation.. but u could be unlucky and loose ££££s who knows.

.. And if you go for drawdown, is a fund better than a mix of your picked shares yieling circa 7pc, most income growth funds seem to yield 5pc if u lucky.

Ive small amount in uk growth n income fund to see how it performs against my picks, I find it sobering to look at 5 year share price increase of these funds.

If you take shroeder uk growth income she picks for example diaggio... would you? (I woulnt when aviva lgen php around)

Please give peeps a couple of international growth income trusts to research .. that are as good as holding a basket of aviva type shares, im assuming u are looking at international for the safety of diversification over uk ones.

... Its hard to get real figures for annuity/drawdown, as mostimes they end up saying we will only deal with fin advisor.. I get the impression there are some hefty fees involved to setup and use.

8pc from likes of aviva lgen etc is hard to beat, dont even need a share price increase for rising income.

Actually I hold all !.. as I don't believe even the top guys know the future. Grudgingly aviva supposed chance of takeover. vod, mmm buy the dogs! while wait 10pc, if goes up, good, if goes down at some point bought out.

Wish i knew if lgen or aviva better! I dont, so hold both and collect 8pc on way.

Its real hard grow a sip looking at above, actually mine is so well balanced it doesn't go down.. OR UP !!!!!!!! But the real prob is when convert sip to life income, should one rely on the above spread about for drawdown... or take guaranteed annuity and lose the pot at 2nd life.

What happens if rr introduce a small divi next year, though the money could probably be spent better on more smr and engine dev, it would bring in another type of institutional developer.

Its a rare company where once product sold there are massive extra earnings on maintenance during its life, and very difficult for a new entrant to enter market.

Why didn't you go for brwm (huge diversified many metals) rio tinto (good divi), Just asking, as I am a fan of a realistic divi so if a blue chip goes wrong no problem to wait it out.

... Did u ever get involved with polymetal, huge gold producer, massive divis, but based in russia, now re domiciled to kazikstan, share price 80pc down, expected to start divi sometime.. I got them booted out of ii, and will hold paper certificates, I believe u can trade stuff like this on aix. (When the war stops they may re list )

Its cayse the share price has fallen that the divi... pence as percentage of share price seems high. If vod was valued at 130 div would be 5.5 pc for example.

So if in vod for income, and if never sell, you are getting 10pc. So everything depends on divi being kept at this level.

You dont even need a rising divi as 10pc is a return plus inflation beat all in one.

It seems to beat recommended funds as well, as cty, 3 or 4pc divi and capital price lower than many years ago.

Mh of course 5pc in a bank isn't enough, need rising income to beat inflation, but a good divi share will do that.

After ggp has hit 50p to £1 then maybe best to move to blue chip divi share... or waiiiiit till ggp does the same.

Well done going into a producer with divi.

Many times the fundamentals tab give completey wrong divi percentage.

My belief is copper will rise as its in elec infrasructure and cars, and gold will be repriced against dollar. imo.

Do you know what newmont divi actually is as percentage.. ?has to be historical of course.

Did you consider rio tinto or fund bwrm both with nice divi.

As for greatand I need another 20PC for my average, tthen start making profit, and am looking for many multiples of todays paltry 11p.

so can work out total interest capital gain interest

Cause it might be better to move safe money out of time limited savings accounts where interest is taxed, to the guilkts where the majority is capital gain and could be untaxed, saing 20 to 40pc

And would enable making a bond ladder for drawdown on a sip.

As for lgen, very happy with div, however no share is "safe" look at direct line vod etc

Very surprised tough that gold and ggp is going up, but urnp not.

i would very much like to have a handle on how much urnp is l(likely ) to rise compared with price of uranium.. ie if uranium hits 100 whats a possible price for urnp. (Dont shoot me down please, just want some sort of idea)

After moving everyting around in the sip this year I have found out you can be so diversified that the pot value doest move !!!!!! ie blue chip vod crashes glaxo dwindles, rolls royce rockets ggp rockets. So Im looking for something like urnp to make a difference.

(I am in urnp as my view is uranium will go to 100 near term then fireworks... (unless the ukraine reactor has an "accident" or whatever then all bets are off.)
