Yes TWT burford hit £20.75p 5 years ago and also 3 years ago.

I do wonder if the Argentinean lawyers have tentatively offered burford the money from any REPSOL claw back claim, that £1.5 billion would mostly solve our lawsuit and also help Argentina's financial problems.

Either way burford should still get a great settlement, maybe burford could help in some way with the reclaiming of that money from REPSOL'S coffers. If we enter into negotiations to help Argentina's case against REPSOL then the reclaimed money or even much more could be ours. It seems like there's some kind of negotiations going on between the two parties,

This is just food for thought, or I maybe I'm way way off the mark.

5 years ago burford hit a high of £20.75p with massively less potential revenue and profits, it's actually unbelievable that our shares are not a lot closer to that figure right now with more profits more potential and much much higher profits, though it's only a matter of time before that happens, not "if ". But only "When".

The shares seem far more stable and behaving more like a typical large company's shares,

Everything's looking fantastic and even without any buy signals coming from any investment tipsters.

newer Investors who are jumping in for a small gain will only short change themselves, stay in , and at least ride this one out to the very top, this is not going to stop until burford retraces it's former highs, why not double your money and just simply hold for the short to medium term and get that profit, burford can do this easily, the tide is turning the American pi will get into a frenzy nearing any settlement negotiations and driving our share price well above former highs of £19+ it might have been more. Right now we are in our launch phase to that historic high that's eventually coming our way.

I'm genuinely not trying to hype burford , simply because burford has shown us it has already achieve such prices before the MW attack, and with much much less earnings and prospects,

Will it be £10 or higher by friday's close, I don't know because it could still be even much much higher than that should any news of our Peterson case be revealed.

But for now I'm extremely happy to sit on a massive fat profit for my pension pot.I

Yes I would agree with all that ok, I'm surprised and yet not surprised this morning , I'm surprised there hasn't been more profit taking after the big rises lately, and yet I'm not surprised because burford is a very very strong buy and hold situation, with the obvious opportunity to nearly double your money with the Peterson case,

I'm 100% certain when the market sentiment fully returns in burfords favour , then a immediate mark up of a basic £10+ per share price is warranted and even right now, there's just no share price reflection for a massive Peterson settlement yet.

Just like JC I also feel sentiment is on the turn right now, there's never been a better time to make even more money in burfords future earnings opportunities.

Yes sammy88 hopefully we can at least get our hands on Temur's London flat , that flat alone should pay our ongoing? and current fees, I'm surprised the judge didn't take temur into custody because of the lies he told to the court to protect his father's interest, and in doing so obstructing the courts fact finding evidence, that should have been a very serious offense, though I guess the judge being somewhat sensitive to the overall family situation,

The only thing right now that might make the father stop and think, is if the judge holds temur in contempt of the court , and that's justifiable ok, and put temur into custody until his father addresses the courts settlement order,

I wouldn't be surprised if temur jumps on a private Jet or yacht paid by his father, and with his own family onboard , and heads to a crooked protective sympathetic country like Russia. let's hope the judge and our legal team try to obstruct that very scenario.

After what the judge stated in court about temur's antics I'm genuinely astonished temur is walking the streets, money can buy you freedom.

Depending how it all ends it really should make a good film or tv drama. But it will probably end up being just a very good tv documentary.

The American market is generally well up today , so I'm hoping burford will steadily continue it's newly found upward buying spree.

I'm actually astonished that we're not sitting at over £10 + right now. It will only take some half decent American or British investors tip sheets to propel our share price to much higher levels, at this level it's still a genuine free bet to nearly double your money on our Peterson lawsuit, long term this could easily be a share to keep like a private pension, only the returns should be much better with burford. A strong decade of earnings growth to come.

It's only my guess in that if we can get that £70m from the son then we should at least get our financing fees back with maybe a healthy profit for us. though I still would like to see his father chased around the world for the remainder of that money, such a pity to ruin any family over greed from a dishonest husband and father.

Burford is essentially a free bet on a share that can " possibly" nearly double your initial investment without any real loss of your initial investment, these situations are very rare on the stockmarkets, if anyone knows another please tell me, why would anyone sell out of a investment situation like this, it's a very strong buy and tightly hold situation.

That brilliant write up is being permanently saved into my favorites .

Yes I also caught the webinar or I think most of it, Bogart does look unpolished, it could be the stress of the pandemic and running a large company at the same time, though he was his usual sharp as a razor self when answering the questions, he certainly knows burford like the back of his hands,

They were the typical Q&A again, other than him saying or basically admitting that the Peterson dates on our court case could easily go beyond that expected time frame indicated as most big lawsuits do, though he did say he can't actually discus the case in detail, that was to be expected from him.

Burford is a complex money making machine ok , simply because of the multitude of different uses of different people's investment money held by burford, and all the different revenue streams we make that money from, to me it's all about burford reducing the risk or spreading the risk from any one investor pool.

I just admit I would like to see Bogart use these interviews to verbally increase more enthusiasm and highlight all the fantastic strengths that burford has in its business model, but as a lawyer he quite often tips the scales slightly the other way trying to be to ultra cautious when describing burfords strengths, I guess it's the lawyer speaking there and not a ordinary CEO who would normally just blast into his company's strengths and future earning power. I like him though now , I can clearly see how love for this company, and just how much he wants it to succeed in future years, though I would also like him to even slightly increase the dividend per year if at all possible, or make it abundantly clear to share holders that he wants to build burfords financial core up to a certain point and then pay the appropriate amounts of dividends, though I completely understand his need to build our own balance sheet up and to borrow money on even better terms than before.

Chris Bogart is only human and God only knows how this pandemic has personally impacted his own mental health and well-being, so some space and understanding should be given to his CEO roll.

The markets are down and burford is doing brilliantly in my eyes, it's looking great going into this year and beyond, massive compounded growth for at least the next decade and beyond.

TWT I acknowledge everything you said, though to find out what the Argentinean legal team might be up to then we need to look at their past lawsuit stalling l tactics, they've successfully delayed our case from round 2015+ with every stall tactic in the book, and that's ok, that's acceptable normal legal dispute practice.
So why would they change now, judge preska is as you say trying to establish who's all involved in this legal dispute, she also needs to establish the potential losses involved to any party in her fact finding period, she could rule in favour of burford , but how can she determine any potential losses to burford unless the $1.5 billion REPSOL claw back money gets settled, and that might take a very long time,or not, I can't see anyone handing over that sort of money without a fight or even court case , unless burford agrees upfront with judge Preska, that they will factor that into any judgement or settlement with two sets of settlement losses.

I agree TWT maybe I'm over thinking this matter, and we just need more information around the delays in court news over the last week and our rising share price, though I'm 100% certain that burfords shares are seriously under priced considering the real opportunity of a near doubling of our share price on any settlement news.

I also wholeheartedly agree with FFC maybe we can shake of the circus commotion around our Peterson case and just rely on our numerous other ordinary great court wins,

The world is constantly changing because of the easy access to the internet / mobile phones tablets etc , people are very easily joining group litigation claims and transferring their documents to validate their claims, and burford is at the forefront of that revenue stream.

I myself have just last week joined the diesel car deception fiasco , and in 24 hours 3 of my family also signed up, Lets hope burford is bankrolling most of this multi billion pound market. I know Burford is making a fortune in the German diesel scandal market.

Hopefully the tide is turning and burford can attain a deservedly high premium of a share price.come,

TWT the reason I have my theory around burford needing more time right now, was because how can burford come to any concrete court lead fact finding settlement figure if the Argentinean side are saying they originally over paid to much to REPSOL 7 years ago, this very scenario could easily delay our lawsuit unless the court lead fact finding settlement figure can be arrived at, thus the urgent need right now for burford to plot another course around this very possible Argentinean stalling tactic ,
Argentina maybe right about this 7 year GAFF of $1.5 billion, !!! but either way burford simply can't afford to fall into another delaying legal trap that may put years onto our case, this very REPSOL $1.5 billion figure is a instrumental part of our lawsuit, so it has to be thought out carefully, we've seen how Argentina done everything to stall proceedings , with which country it should be held in, and using the pandemic to its maximum to slowdown or potentially stop key Argentinean witnesses from personally participating in our lawsuit,
I state all of the above without PREJUDICE, all the above shall not be admissible in any court of law. That's just me protecting myself.

I agree with all these post here in that it's extremely difficult to pin point any particular reason for the share price spike ,other than burford is worth much much more than it's current price and it maybe just another spike as FFC states , my theory and others are food for thought , so that we can all benefit from things we might not have thought relevant,

Yes this is absolutely correct I did buy a parcel of shares at £9.25p I also bought at many other prices and even as low as £2.68p and aggressively around £2.95p ,if my memory serves me correctly, and bringing my average price down to approximately £3 , I've also bought and sold several times and also increasing my holding and reducing my average price paid, I'm sure many here have probably carried out similar profit making strategies, or maybe not,
I'm sure I've also mentioned this strategy in other past post , but I guess it's to much trouble for some to go and find those post to prove that fact, never worry , as long as burford carries on upwards I really don't concern myself to much about innocent misunderstandings,

What a brilliant day burford holders, yes TWT a roller coaster of a share price and emotions LOL, today leaves me happy and eager for a even higher price tomorrow, 6% up in the states you say ffc, absolutely brilliant news, so Argentina is asking for REPSOL in Spain to basically pay or help with our nearly certain settlement , that will go down nicely in Argentina and save some face for that administration. If Argentina has to pay us then they can dutifully tell their own tax payers that they should be able retrieve $1.5 billion from REPSOL'S coffers , it could be a absolute God send to Argentina's current and future finances, if we can get the massive frenzied private investor market onboard in America then burford will surly fly to its deserved premium share price. This week should be very rewarding and interesting .

Guys the share price is soaring over the last few sessions, can we not keep the negativity out of this forum , it's a time to celebrate our good fortunes, £3 I paid and it strangely seems to have upset others, I'm just extremely happy to see anyone's thoughts around burford no matter how many post they've placed here, get happy and positive or get sad and negative,

I'm happy and extremely positive about burfords prospects,
life's far to short to needlessly hurt others.
