RE: UK doing something about the back log in cases1 Apr 2021 23:39
That’s great news TWT , that should move things along nicely, also I wouldn’t be surprised if more of the courts worldwide/ America join in with them sort of court arrangements, I’m actually very excited about Bogart mentioning that more big businesses are approaching Burford for litigation funding in light of the pandemics problems, this litigation funding business , I really feel Burford is really only touching the top of the iceberg here. With even hundreds of billions of dollars of business up for grabs, I’m nearly sure Chris Bogart says these big companies are now seeing the merits of turning their on the books lawsuits into upfront payments from Burford, we get our cut, they get that no risk upfront payment from Burford and we take the risk and cherrypick the best cases ,and even x amount of losers and it should still pay us, that’s what litigation capital does very well, but on a much smaller scale,
Say Burford takes on 10 or more cases from a big company, we work out the profits on say 6/7 cases and we can still afford to loose a preplanned 3/4 cases , the big company gets these cases off their books and gets paid upfront money on 6/7 cases , it pays us and it pays the other companies. We take the risk with a team of lawyers scrutinising the cases in every detail, and then decide what are the chances of winning x amount of cases, and then offer that company a sum of money for those cases and we’ll even take x amount of cases that we think will loose, that must be a very tempting and compelling offering to any company big or small, and that’s why litigation funding is now growing Exponentially into a multi billion dollar industry that’s actually sweeping the world’s boardrooms and courtrooms, I genuinely see this getting into the hundreds of billions within several years, but why ? Because it’s needed, just ask any decent solicitor or lawyer and they will tell you it’s very much needed and probably very essential now days , I will be astonished if Burford isn’t funding tens of billions of dollars of lawsuits in just a few years or so, just look how quickly as I said that Burford hit the American market for cheaper money with senior notes raising around $400 million and paid back in 2028 , I can easily see Burford raising much higher sums when we build up our cash position, and possibly even taking out the more expensive borrowing from the Sovereign wealth fund, the more money we make and hold the safer we look to investors and making it even cheaper again to borrow larger sums on the American markets. Everything looks fantastic from my observations around everything including the Peterson case which I’m near certain we will easily win. that win alone will give us cheaper borrowings , and that’s why it’s so important for Burford to get compounded growth and hold onto our profits as much as possible, to any clever investors Burford is similar to Warren Buffetts money making machine Berkshire Hathaway, £££££££
