TWT that was a excellent well thought out post, and very deserving of numerous tick ups.
If I had just one thing to say right now- is that numerous big companies make it to the very top / billion dollar status and then only to sit on there laurels and watch there smaller rivals come quietly in and kick the floor out from beneath them,
I don't see this happening yet with burford , but then I wouldn't , that's the whole point I'm making, if burford sits on its laurels and just takes on the big litigation funding cases , then someone will mop up all the other downstream litigation funding cases, and it's they who could easily come up and take on burford, remember all anyone needs is large amounts of cash and very good lawyers to do what burford does, any of burfords lawyers could be poached away at anytime to anyone , we've seen the big hedge funds put millions up for virtually solid win cases,
I want to see burford inject itself/ our shares / our money into most of the big law firms to secure those big litigation lawsuits, we take a slice of there profits and they get a overall say 30% compounded worldwide growth coming from burfords total lawsuit wins, a law firm is a business, any business will change partnerships to get a better deal and profit margin, it's only business as we say, burford would do the same itself, and I would expect that from them, though I completely acknowledge that these big law firms do have a long standing and good working relationship with each other, but when it comes to money and power, people can change alliances very quickly , none of these parties are legally tied to give life long business to each other.
As burford sits right now , it does look like to me that it's prepared to explore every avenue in the litigation funding world, I want to see a CEO who's addicted to making money for himself and share holders , and also developing a small company into a worldwide titan and conglomerate in the litigation funding world, also I think we might actually have found him in Chris Bogart and his experienced team. So it's exciting times as they say, the next few years could easily see our companies valuation soar to historical highs, and that means cheaper bolt on's and other company takeovers for us. And that means higher and higher compounded profits per year.
Burford all the way.
Cheers everyone
