I have 18th October in my diary, but cannot remember if it is a firm date or simply around the time they announced last year. Either way, I imagine it will be in the second/third week of October. The only thing to watch out for is the risk of a new (and very good) CEO using the opportunity to "kitchen sink" anything he does not like, including iffy accounting/revenue recognition. If that happens the ap may not fall, but it won't jump in the short term. But still a good long term hold imo. GLA GS

I am sure there is interest. I am here for one. Bought in the middle of July expecting a jump in sp on the back of PAYS results in Aug. Sold out of PAYS post results but like the sector and this will do better in %age terms long term I think. So far so good.... (famous last words) GS

@Matt - Well, I am holding until the results at least. GS

@Smart_inv - it is beginning to look like it. I suspect the only thing that will stop the cycle repeating is M&A action. I am no chartist - where is Techny? - but I am expecting it to fall to somewhere around 370-375 again. Won't wait that long to buy back in but there is money to made on the range here. GL GS

@BB Agree on PG' s target for FXI although not sure I have the nerve to hold all the way to 700+. But the over-reaction in January was so absurd that 250-300 looks very reachable. You are right - I had a few UTW running for free, until this morning when I took a March 17 contract at £100 a point on the basis that the sp looked stupidly low and: 1. Revenues and cash flow look to be heading in the right direction 2. They now have an absolutely first CEO in place. 3. I am counting on Mr Woodford (on 27%) to keep Thompson (founder & exec chair) in his place. 4. On my metrics they are absurdly undervalued and for fun I did your 10x PBT + cash (which was -£0.2m) at the update. Even on H1 PBT alone (as in 6 not 12 months PBT) they were and still look like a must have. It just takes time for the market to recover confidence in a share that under-delivered last year, but I think UTW's time may be coming. And talking of PAYS, barring a late rally it seems to be running true to form... any depressing news from China or the US over the next week and it will be wrestling with 380/390. GL GS

@BB - agreed - that is why I also have so few holdings and they are ones I think are capable of moving against the market (which PAYS is not). Always tough to call a top. But on this share given early movements today, you could see 200p very soon. And if there is good news it will do that and more irrespective of what happens around it. GL GS

@BB - Hope you are well. I must admit to selling all my PAYS (except for SIPP) and closing a bet yesterday mid morning. Uncharitably for others, I am hoping it carries on falling and I can repeat. Probably as you are.... FXI is interesting to me because (big IF) you assume their software really does what it seems/they claim, then the sp is woefully low. I think the market over-reacted in January when I bought some and I then got a fair bit more in the post Brexit slump and so today's move is welcome. Nose now ell above water, so let's hope it sticks/carries on. But I bet we see some interesting news in the next few days. Otherwise, of my other big holdings, I am enjoying STAF and CRX. Less said about LVD the better although it is asset backed. Where are you having fun? GL GS

@jolly - :-) I wish it happened more often. However I have had a (for me) large spread running from about 350 which I have now closed at 412.xx What is in my SIPP stays put. On past performance the sp may well go up a bit more over the next day or two but I would not be surprised to see it below 400p at some stage when China or the US publish some duff macro news. If so I will look to buy back in. If it keeps on going up and rerates then well done all who hold. But whatever happens, it has been a highly profitable and enjoyable ride. GLA GS

Very strong numbers from Worldpay today which the market likes (sp up 4.5% at time of writing). PAYS imho is better managed, faster on its feet and so will have benefited more from the favourable market conditions that WPG has also enjoyed. I think tomorrow will be a pleasant day. GLA GS

Brendan Flattery is a truly heavyweight appointment. I think, once he has his feet under the desk, we will enter an era of under-promising and over-delivering. He did a fabulous job at Sage and as long as Thompson does not get under feet he should do the same here. About time. GS

Are much bigger but otherwise broadly comparable and they announce their interims tomorrow. It will be an interesting comparison between those and PAYS the day after. GS

Buy back whenever you judge the low as it will probably recover again towards the full announcement in October Most of the update today was pretty positive. Improvements at pretty much every level and cash flow seems to be better. But it was not the blockbuster people were hoping for and there are a couple of causes for (mild) unease. 1. Sudden departures of directors are always bad news - either they were not good at their job, or there was a falling out with the CEO. Corporate governance is an issue at UTW and they STILL have not announced the new CEO (see April RNS from memory). So my money is on corporate governance and I hope Mr Woodford has already had a quiet word behind the scenes... 2. There do appear to be a couple of issues in areas such as consultant retention/recruitment, integration/leveraging of tmax etc 3. Future revenue streams (i.e. already under contract but not bookable yet) look to me as if they are only increasing at about 5% p.a. But UTW is not going bust, the cash bleed seems to have been reversed and given the promised strengthening of the management team I am sure the sp will rise a fair way from today. Each to their own when they buy in... GLA GS

@jolly @comeon Fingers crossed. This OUGHT to go to 420+ by cob 10/8 but the economic backdrop is hardly rosy. Having said which, most of PAYS revenues are dollar based and I would imagine that along with good 1/2 year numbers the outlook guidance will improve further. GLA GS

Given they are expected to be good and the sp really ought to be north of 400-420 just as a result of the announcement, I rather think the close today heralds a strong performance on Friday, Monday and Tuesday. But what do I know? GLA GS

I think 330-340 is unlikely. Close on Brexit disaster day was only 337.90 (360+ the next day) and otherwise the sp has not seen sub 340 since December 2015. Since then there has been FTSE250 entry, 2 (v. positive) trading updates, broker upgrades etc etc. I was placing (long) spreadbets today with a buy price of around 358-359 and a spread of 4.5p. To within a very few pennies, I suspect that is about as low as it will go. GS

As I said below - this look slike the usual pre results shakeout. You can look back at the sp over the last 12 months and you will see the same pattern. It may go as low as 360 (although I doubt it) before recovering immediately pre the statement on 10th Aug after which the sp ought to be at least 50-60p better than it is now. GS

Beginning to look like the usual pre results shake out. Every chance of a good buying opportunity later today or early next week as it is almost inconceivable the results will anything other than glittering. GS

You are welcome. There is a trading update due probably in the second half of August (6 months to 31st July). The only number I will be looking at will be cash generation. I suspect the rest of the market will do the same. If real progress has been made, then the sp could really bounce. If not..... GS
