thanks honestbob: clarification appreciated. I cant answer about tax: I imagine if its in a SIPP or ISA it wont matter; if in a trading account I understand the capital return will be treated as a gain or loss depending on your average. To be honest I dont know categorically. ATB

You raise a good point about next year's payment. If you read the subtle wording of the RNS it may perhaps be pointing to a Special Divi for anyone holding at a given point next year, as opposed to a further Capital Return with its complications and administrative costs,.

I imagine the Nov 11 document will specify who is or is not eligible.

I am, of course, not serious. I also have no idea why Daffy Duck and his pals think it's going to hit 90p (apart from trying to help out their shaky shorts).

Silly isnt it? But until Nov 11 when the formal documents for the capital return are issued it will continue to bounce around I fear. Still...all that really matters is the capital return confirmation; name change; strategy document; brokers notes; II's announcing; director buys....should be an exciting three months. Unless one is a trader.

I think you're right: Daffy has been saying for ages that this is a dead cert short....seems like some new arrivals agree Go for it, I say, although that's more a term of encouragement as I'm not authorised to give advice ;-)

Morning Newboy58. Many are disappointed; I was when I first read the RNS. Then I spent some time thinking it through and discussing with other investors. A general consensus is:- - 90p which is easily approved by the courts is better than 100p which may be refused - A further 10p next year completes the ambiguous 'aggregate £1' - There is more to come from NIHL - Holding back cash means the new strategy from Indro is funded the way he needs.....he's now showing his leadership. - 10p/share is now added to NAV. Instead of a remaining 56p NAV, it's now 66p.......so we are 'somewhat under NAV' still When this goes ex-return, if the price is substantially lower than NAV, good luck to anyone trying to buy in. My personal GUESS is that there will be other news issued immediately after the return which then has a very positive impact on the sp....rewarding investors and starting the long overdue recovery. No prob at all. Daffy Duck said we would get 45p capital return and was 100% out. On that basis I like his projections for 90p as it would leave us at £1.80 although I suspect his short may be a little uncomfortable.
