Trading accounts will normally allow you to specify at the time you place an order how long you want to wait before settling (paying).
In my ISA it's fixed at T2 (2 days later); however in my trading account I can opt for T2, T5, Y10, T20. This potentially allows you to buy shares and pay for them up to 20 days later...you'll probably get slightly worse prices, but if you feel that the share is going to be higher 20 days later, then that may be an option for you. I'm sure others can go into far greater detail on the pros/cons/
