Not had time to look into the detail on the actual savings AEX will make by not paying directors, pension, bonus, employer costs etc.. but these are not totally free shares as the company will benefit by keeping the cash they would be paying out. So you could look at this as placing for funds (without the associated costs of a market placing)
Does anyone have a figure on the total savings? We can then work out a price per share equivalent?
Assuming the directors will also have to pay capital gains tax on any gains booked so assuming this will be taken into account but they will save on income tax and NI etc..
Still seems an awful lot of shares considering it doesn't state the period this will cover so I can only assume this is for 12 months - lets see how the market sees this tomorrow!
