Why has dropped so much today on nightshift just woke can not see anything other than hight cover cases yesterday??

Reading about OPEC's meeting yesterday I could see a strategy for opec to drag this out a little longer to really cripple the shale gas company's, would never come out and say it but would be a good strategy to put them to bed finally. I know in America they just file for chapter 11 and move on shareholders wiped out debt holders take a haircut, but who's going in invest in the sector going forwards from so many casulaltys............ Liquidity dries up QPEC gain greater market share. Shale collapsing will do us all good longterm!!!

I don't know on that one, but wouldn't make sense for them to last long in exposed conditions corrosion is a very big problem for any equipment exposed to the elements on my installation but ok if its enclosed which I m guessing most of the turbine electronic parts will be though not looked at them in detail but the under water cables are often problematic so I hear, nothing about them would make me think there a good investment and often hear of companies involved in big projects and just don't operate as they hoped they would in the design stage. Another thing that grinds on my while I m at it is Shell offering there staff packages second to non 25% into pension share save best of health care 100% sick pay, they can only justify this in high profit oil and gas world, if there offering the same terms and conditions in renewables there cost base will be a lot higher than there competitors, something they need to address sooner rather than later!!!

I was working at a Smulders yard, we made the bottom half of the jackets and they were selling for 5 million euros per jacket, ontop of this they had to buy a top half of the jacket, Plus a turbine, plus blades, plus under water cables, Plus Electrical package/substation. We fly past them when going offshore the amount that are not even moving, just can not buy into the idea personally its all the wettys of the world getting there own way and just dose not make financial sense at all......

Poker I was working at a yard in walsend making Jackets for wind turbines last year. I was the only electrician on site so was getting pulled from pillar to post. One of the head guys was on the pad and was p'd off so I said sarcastically do they even think these turbines are green energy due to the amount of steel and transportation fuel that was involved in making them, he laughed at me nearly told me to go f*&k myself then said your right but its politically correct, theres work created in making them and most importantly its heavily subsidised is the reason they build them, I asked would they ever pay for themselves, he smirked and said probably not but they were making profit out of building them....... Of course technology will improve but just don't get green energy investment right now. Shell could invest in other industries that will give far greater reuturns.

Emma if you want to be smug and patronising don't expect people to write a report for you to justify these thoughts!! unfortunately dose not work like this..........

Interesting Boyo and have always thought this, for me the big question is if we do how long before we get a vaccine and how will it take to get it mass produced. I read the other day pfizer hope to have there vaccine approved for emergency use next month would be great if they achieved this!!

And just watching the Ruters interviews and as Poker already said the dollars forecast to lose roughly 30% of its value over the next few years which will support the prices of oil and gas if it dose play out like this!!

Very true Boyo but were still heavily dependant on oil and I would LIKE to think the lack of investment will come into play in the next few years and the fact were a gas company mostly weighs in our favour. It is over produced now but hoping shale takes a massive dip over next 18 months, time will tell, Good luck

Thanks Boyo I asked for this and appreciate your response. If I m honest I am after a safe double your money on2-3 years. Do you not think shell will hit £20 or just not convinced it will?? I was defiantly hoping it would hit £18 but maybes I'm a dreamer and maybes out of touch with what oil will be selling for in 18 months as was hoping for $60 but the longer this goes on for the more forecasts are saying it won't, but would be happy to sell it for buy in price after a few years of getting divi paid. I will have a look at these companys thanks but not really wanting to have more money invested in oil as had to many painful experiences RDSB and BP are the only oils I m happy to take a risk on

Change is defiantly a good thing done right, but following Warren Buffet you have to stick to your circle of knowledge when investing in and often older folk do not adapt to new technology as easily as people in there 20-30's. Listening to Charlie Monger he thinks all fund managers should only be allowed to be a fund manager once they hit the age of 50.

What are your thoughts on BP?? to me the fact there cutting oil production by 40% was off-putting in comparison to shell...

Boyo PokerChips you both helpful supportive posters and though the BB always has to be taken with a pinch of salt. I take it your both long on RDSB, are there any other company with equal potential to Shell that are worth looking at?? I realise nothing in life a certainty but would like to hear of other companies that are worth studying if your comfortable sharing your thoughts, was reading up about RollsRoyce and not saying there not a good investment but the share dilution going on there is outside my circle of knowledge which isn't great to be vast but would like to hear of other company that could double over the next few years from current prices??

The next JMMC is coming up on the 19th of October. I don't know wether they give any indication but really need OPEC to keep production cuts at current levels to support current POO. In a difficult position but will be interesting to hear the results of it should influence the market either way.

Yes Poker it seams a lot of confusing information about them, hard to understand but with you 100% there even if some side effects if it works we need it before the world economy colapses, I get wound up by mate who quite happily snort some coke/ popping pills but say there not having the vaccine as not proven....... Come on........!!! Sorry last question, but who do you favour BP or RDSB???
