Sorry guys I read up on it elsewhere Never bought outside of ISA or SIPP in the past was not aware of the 2000 a year tax free allowance on dividends, Its come as a welcome surprise :)

Thanks Steve I won't make more than 2000 a year of dividends but due to a massive **** up elsewhere I had to buy RDSB in trading account there the only shares I have in this trading account though. Is this 2000 pound rule for dividends off any company or just shell I never herd of it before, Normally's I buy in ISA or SIPP so not been something I had to concern myself with in the past??

Guys I never knew this currently have around 45000 pounds worth at in my trading account but a few more in ISA. are you saying I can make unto 2000 British pounds per year without having to pay income tax on them which I thought I would have to pay at 40% due to my day job please?? Would help a lot if true as had a disastrous year due to other investments??

theres no tax on them I thought, you have to declare to tax man and pay tax on them at a later date......???

THats the thing it’s not looking good but if you were to sell looking for a lower entry, anything vaccine news could catch you out also the us elections really difficult to gauge what Tom do for the better but I m all of the opinion that in 18 months this will look a great entry price to get in...... I HOPE!!!

Boyo I agree mate but if a deep water horizon happens to one then half your moneys safe in the other if you were 50/50. I am convinced both will come good in time buying in today but over what times line 3 years?? 5 years?? Hope your having a good weekend mate!!

Not great to have to much in one company dose anyone here other than the obvious covid /oil price think BP is worth investing in also? I believe there getting a 8 % dividend to or 5%????
