I imagine the BOD have taken the view that keeping shareholders onside by maintaining the dividend programme is a sound decision in light of how companies who dropped their distribution in the light of Covid have struggled to rebuild confidence. I can see that with the expectation of eventual lower interest rates and substantially improved forward cash flow once the tariff 'wars' have been settled, the increased debt ought to be a relatively short-term burden. Time will tell, of course.

Presumably this will be a lucrative revenue stream for Hikma, provided they are up to speed when the various patents expire in the coming months and years. Topping-up here might even hedge against the uncertainty surrounding Diageo which some analysts claim is suffering from the trend toward alcohol-free lifestyles favoured by Gen Z etc...

BeardedD - II was unable to confirm trades on a couple of occasions just now. However, on the third buy order, after resetting, I got a top-up at 500. That clears the balance of my ISA funds until some more dividends arrive..

As I get older, I contemplate how few novel things I get to witness as the years roll by, but that changed a bit today..

So, Europe needs to heed the clear and present warning and arm and train. The German economy and its former weak chancellor have until now been the weakest link and should be encouraged to make up for lost time. America is not the country we knew a few decades back. I think we might see defence stocks and gold hold their own against a bit of a general sell-off when the market opens on Monday.

Pernix: You’re right BAE shares are cheap to pick up with huge defence spending for Europe on the cards. With the New German Chancellor today, he sees defence of Europe independent of America. That may signal a total rebuild of European Armies & Defence Weapons. So as I say £24 for BAe shares coming.

I tend to think these comments of yours from earlier in the week continue to reflect the defence requirement of Europe, especially in light of the circus in the Whitehouse earlier today. Certainly the European defence summit on Sunday should provide further indications of the direction of travel. I'm not feeling inclined to trim my BAE holding just yet, but probably not holding out for £24 either.

I'm not so bothered about the shield, but the 'bp' looks unprofessional and as if written by some intern, either ignorant, or trying to be 'down wit da kids'. Whatever the true origin, its reversal back to BP would be an indication the company is getting serious again.

I'm not a huge holder here, but enough to take notice of the recent ride down - about 10% over the last month or so. I've not identified anything specific. Has anyone who's paying closer attention got an explanation?
