To improve efficiencies and to respond to the evolving needs of our customers in what are tough trading conditions for the industry, International Paper can confirm a proposal to close five of its Packaging sites in the United Kingdom. Additional proposals also include the relocation of one site, the move from 24-7 to 24-5 operations at one site and a small headcount reduction at two further Packaging sites in the United Kingdom. International Paper expects the proposals would be implemented by the end of this calendar year and that approximately 300 roles may be affected.

Megrez was disappointing, but it's the 'nature of the beast'. Seismology, as sophisticated as it's become, does not yield high-def, detailed, full colour 3D images of exactly what's below the surface. I conclude that PANR have acted in good faith and at the right moment endeavoured to preserve shareholder value. Anyone who claims their butt is sore now either over extended their exposure or is trying to talk it down for a cheap entry. All the yapping after the event is pointless. If you must, adjust your exposure or STFU and go home...

Without wishing to be picky, please be aware that in geological terminology, it's referred to as a 'mother lode' - lode from Old English meaning stream or brook, and was coined by early gold prospectors who were able to trace back in streams the origin of the gold particles to a vein which had been eroded out by the water.

This (Magrez) is giving me unpleasant flashbacks to Beacon/Advance Oil, where the seismology and board enthusiasm both proved to be fundamentally misleading - and in that case terminally destructive to shareholders. Having said that, I have a hugely greater degree of confidence in the management team at PANR and recognise that Magrez was only ever 'the icing on the cake'. Not a great day for me - got a dentist appt. at 3pm...
